How do you cancel individual notifications from the device?

Friday was a public holiday in Japan which was hard to forget as - very annoyingly - my Inspire HR reminded me of it all day at frequent intervals, sometimes in English sometimes in Japanese. I tried using "close" and tried just ignoring the notifications but no matter what I did, they didn't stop coming.

I don't have any notifications of this type set up on my phone. Normally I would only expect to see the occasional appointment for which I've set an alarm and incoming messages. I don't want to turn off notifications altogether so how do I stop the same notification from coming back again and again? Also, I don't mind this particular message appearing once but why are these notifications coming from my calendar in the first place when I have no notifications set up on my phone?

I have notifications for calendar events turned on so seeing it appear once doesn't surprise me. But it should be possible to dismiss it. It shouldn't be coming up again and again throughout the day. Also, I don't get these notifications on my phone. Surely the Inspire should only be duplicating notifications on the phone.

If you do a search of the board for your device, you might find others have reported this.

Since this whole thread is about your phone, and not knowing the OS I am only guessing here.

This thread is not about my phone. As I have already said in both posts, I don't have these notifications on my phone. I don't even have public holidays in the calendar on my phone. I am asking if there is a way to acknowledge a notification on the Inspire in a way which stops it coming back.

I had already searched the forum before posting but found nothing which is why I posted in the first place.
