I’m having trouble receiving text messages on my Inspire. How do I set that up? I’m getting phone call notifications. I have an iPhone X.

I have tried these steps as well as resetting my Fitbit and my phone (iPhone 6s) and I am still not receiving text messages, although I do receive phone calls. Also, it keeps tracking phantom activity. I sit at a desk all day and it said I had 92+ minutes of activity. This is simply not true at all. Do you have any other suggestions please?

I am having the same issue and have tried these fixes

I have followed the steps to receive text messages on my Inspire and still not working.  Any recommendations?

Change your banner style in message notifications for iPhone. Make is persistent over temporary.

Thanks for the advice, fixed that.  Still not working.  Anything else I should try?

I had this issue before. But in my case the issue started when I got a new phone. My old phone still had my fitbit synced. Which is why it wasn't connecting properly to my new phone. I had to follow some steps to resolve. Hopefully this forum link will help you. https://community.fitbit.com/t5/iOS-App/Alta-not-syncing-with-new-Cell-Phone/m-p/1716147/highlight/t...

I’m having trouble with my inspire hr not receiving messages. I have repeatedly tried to re-start my Fitbit but it is still not working. But in the dashboard, however, it shows all of my messages from friends are on. But the all day sync keeps spinning around. I’ve tried to pair with my devices, (i.e. iPhone 7 & iPad Air) but it keeps failing. In my settings it shows my Inspire HR is connected; Bluetooth is on; and my do not disturb is not on.

After 3 weeks of trying, I give up and will return my hr,

iPhone X everything set a note, and still nothing. I bought this as an alternative for the weight of my iwatch for the summer.    I find this unit a waste of money since I’ve spent far too much time restarting and resetting my notifications.  My time is valuable and with the hours I’ve spent, I’m deep in the hole.  I couldn’t even get Fitbit customer service to help me get it to work.

I have been trying for DAYS to get my Fitbit Inspire to stay connected to Bluetooth and report texts and phonecalls. It used to do this. I have followed all the directions, changed/fixed notifications. VERY frustrated!

I was having the same problem for about a month. I followed all the directions but nothing. My final step in getting the texts to show on my inspire was going into my iPhone settings, scrolling to notifications, once in notifications make sure that ALWAYS is chosen in the Show Preview, once that is confirmed scroll down under notifications style and choose messages. Make sure that always is on and that you select Notification Center under Alerts to activate it.  Remember this is all done from your iPhone within the notifications tab. Hope this works.

This worked for me! Had my Wife send me texts as I played with the notification setting and all of a sudden I started getting the texts on my Inspire. Thank you for your help!

I just got my inspire yesterday afternoon.  I received text notifies on it all day yesterday.  I am not getting any text notifications on it today.  Why would it only work for a few hours?

Make sure you go to your phone settings, then to notifications, then scroll down to messages, and make sure you have Notification Center marked. Once that is done scroll back up to Fitbit and make sure that Notification Center is also marked. Hope this helps.

I did all that. I'm shocked that no one has mentioned pushing the button on
the left side of the Fitbit and going to the little "document" icon. If
it's split, you won't get notifications. If you click on it/unsplit it, the
problem is solved. I spent HOURS not getting this answer.

It did start working again. My best guess is that maybe it was working the whole time. I was doing housework, so I may have inadvertently woken the device and then missed the notification.

Sorry to hear that. My Fitbit does not have that document option. Guess the newer Inspires are a little different.
