I’m having trouble receiving text messages on my Inspire. How do I set that up? I’m getting phone call notifications. I have an iPhone X.

It seems to work most of the time.  Sometimes, though, it doesn’t if I’m already on the messenger app etc.

Hi. I have a fitbit alta. I spoke to a customer service rep that sent me an article that helped. But they did say they are still fixing this bug on all operating systems.

Here are the steps that helped me (I had to dig through my app notifications to find where this was turned off on the fitbit app). Link to article - https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/1979#work

Go to "How do I setup Notifications" then select the type of phone. Follow all the steps.

Hopefully the link above has your answer just open the sections to find the steps to take.

I pushed in and held the button on the side until the screen switched from
time to battery, then scrolled down. There was a little document-looking
thing with a zig-zag line through it. I touched that, and the zig-zag went
away, the "document" became "whole," and I could receive notifications.

Hope this helps!

Can’t tell you how many hours I spent trying to get notifications on my
Inspire. It works now, but online instructions seriously lacking.

I pressed and held the side button till the battery symbol came up, then scroll to the icon that looks like a document. Touch that icon till it’s “whole”—no jagged line across it.

I also fiddled with permissions in the app with my iPhone. It is NOT an
intuitive process, and I fault Fitbit for not being clearer. I truly can't
coach you on what I ultimately did that made it work beyond the button on
the Fitbit itself, but I was about to send it back to the company with a
bitter complaint.

How did you fix it because mine is not working either

I followed whatever instructions there were online to get my iPhone paired with the Fitbit, which still didn't work, but may have paved the way. Then I pushed the side button on the Inspire and held it until the battery showed up. Then scrolled down till there was a "document" icon on the screen. It was split in two. When I touched it, it became solid, and I could receive notifications. NOWHERE in the Fitbit website did I see anything about this, and it's an awful omission. I spent HOURS trying to fix this. Hope you're successful.

Hello, I haven’t had a chance to work on it but I’m really thinking about contacting fitbit.

Right last I knew it was because of the update on iPhone but there has been two releases since I got my Fitbit and it’s not working

some iPhone are have trouble because of the software update. so try changing your software update. If it does not still work call fitbit support .they are very nice. don't press any numbers when you call let them, pick up. they are very kind and they are helpful. their number is 1 (877) 623-4997.

Changing the preview feature in messages under notifications to ALWAYS worked for me too but I don’t want a preview of my full text messages to appear on my phone. So it seems that I have to choose between getting text notifications on my Fitbit and having my texts show in the preview screen on my phone.... or switch back to no text preview on my phone  and not get any notifications on my Fitbit. This doesn’t seem right and is very frustrating!!
