How can I track distance when biking?
My fitbit tracks duration and intensity, but I cannot add distance (or do not know how) . Help 🙂

Hi @May.SN. You dont say if you have an Inspire or an Inspire HR. If it is the HR version you can use the exercise shortcut for bike and use your phones GPS to track distance (you need to take the phone with you). If you have the Inspire you cant track distance, and if you use automatic tracking on the HR you cant track distance. The problem is that without GPS a tracker has no way of knowing how far you have travelled on a bike.

Mine is non-HR. Why can't I just tell it I'm going cycling and then tell it when I stop? With my phone I guess. Google Fit will do that. At the moment it doesn't credit me with anything.
Claims it can on pavement but I ride on gravel mostly.

Hi @WWanderer As you have the Inspire and not the (more expensive) Inspire HR you cant do that. The more expensive a tracker is, the more features it has and if you want exercise shortcuts to help track your activity then you need to move to the HR model or a different tracker that does track using shortcuts.
However, having said that I usually leave my tracker to auto recognise my bike rides and it does an excellent job whether I am on a paved road or on gravel. Try restarting your Inspire several times and see if it picks it up next time.

Thnx for the reply. I'm content to use the app to tracks exercise that the device itself can't. Just log it by hand somehow. Don't see why the HR would make any difference there.
Just weedwacked part of the yard and don't get much benefit, log-wise, although I can see how HR would help there.
