How can I turn off the relax/guided breathing in my Fitbit Inspire 2 ? I don't want it, I find it intrusive that it starts without me requesting it, I don't know how to disable this feature. Thanks

Thanks for your response. I am very surprised that Fitbit would force some

features like this. This seems to be a trend everywhere - Google and Apple do the same, forcing features that their customers may not want but can’t be disabled. If this continues I may well go back to a traditional old watch.... Best,

@Esthersil Thank you for getting back.

I understand that this is an important feature to add, at the moment it's not possible to remove it. However, be sure that your comments won't be unnoticed. Hope you continue being a Fitbit user.

Have a good week.

I also dislike this feature. The fact that I can’t disable it makes me hate it. I love my Fitbit, but the relax feature is intrusive and holds my watch hostage. I can’t always stop what I’m doing to breathe, and frankly, I shouldn’t have to if I don’t want to.

This feature has basically ruined fitbit for me. Every few nights it wakes me up in the middle of sleep by vibrating and telling me to breathe and I have to take my fitbit off to go back to sleep. I have stopped wearing the device because of this terrible feature. I'm looking for a different brand of tracker because of this.

@elijah13 Welcome to the Fitbit Community. Thanks for the detailed information shared.

I see where your disappointment is coming from. Your feedback is appreciated, be sure that features are implemented and improved based in user's feedback.

I'd like you to make sure you're following these tips to properly wear your Inspire 2:

  • Wear your device on top of your wrist. For best results, the back of your device should be in contact with your skin for features like heart-rate tracking.
  • Make sure that your band isn't too tight. Wear it loose enough that it can move back and forth on your wrist.
  • During exercise, try moving the band higher on your wrist (2-3 finger widths above your wrist bone) to get a better fit so it's secure, but not too tight. Lower the band on your wrist and loosen it after exercise.
  • Take off your device on a regular basis to let your skin breathe. If you experience any discomfort or irritation, loosen the band, and if it persists give your wrist a break by taking it off for an extended time.
  • Clean your band regularly with a soap-free cleanser (like Cetaphil). If your device gets wet, remove and dry completely after your activity.
  • Make sure your wrist setting in the Fitbit app matches the wrist that you wear your device on (dominant or non-dominant). For more information, see How do I change the wrist setting on my Fitbit device?

Hope this helps.

Only thing more disappointing than not being able to turn off a feature you don't like is getting a boilerplate reply that has nothing to do with the post. I'm not having problems wearing the fitbit. I'm unable to turn off a feature I hate because fitbit made it that way.

I agree it is super annoying. I don’t want it. I meditate and don’t find it helpful when it starts randomly.

I also find it a nuisance and an irritation to have that darn beeping and vibrating suddenly come on unexpectedly and randomly. I don't always have the luxury to stop what I'm doing and breathe when it goes off, and the fact that it is impossible to disable this feature is a bit of a contradiction to me...forced relaxation?!  I have been a loyal and devoted Fitbit user but I'll be looking for another tracker after this!

Seriously?  Can’t be turned off?  Mine just went off for the first time and I had no idea what was going on. If it can’t be disabled that’s it for me. Bye bye Fitbit.

Wow another technology company who is absolutely certain they know my needs and desires better than I do! Well, now I need to switch to a better product that does not patronize me or try to get me to relax while doing dishes.

I've had my Inspire 2 for two months now and I've never once gotten a forced relax / guided breathing exercise. I removed the Stress Management and Mindfulness tiles from the phone app the moment I saw them and I've never entered the Relax menu on the Inspire 2. Is that, perhaps, the key to not getting these intrusive 'exercises?'
