Hi

I just want my fitbit to count steps nut it counts every arm movement. I have selected 'dominant' hand on the app. Ehat am I doing wrong?

If your main concern is just steps, you should get the optional clip for the Inspire 2 and wear attached to hip or somewhere similar.

Nothing on your wrist can actually know what your legs are doing, and have to infer steps from arm movement.  Hips see much less non-step movement so give more accurate step count.  But you give up having it visible as a watch, and any data based on heart rate.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.

Hi JohnnyRow

Thankyou for your reply. I can see that that would probably be the best thing in this case, however on further research I have found other people to have this problem too. My last step counter (a different make) had no problem counting steps when on my wrist. Unfortunately I lost that one. My friend has the same Inspire 2 fitbit and his counts steps accurately on his wrist, so I think this particular one must be faulty. I will return it and get a different one but I appreciate your feedback. Thank you.
