After trying unsuccessfully to set up my new Inspire HR through my laptop (windows 10) I returned the Inspire to the shop as "faulty" and got a replacement. Once again set up was unsuccessful. It appeared to sync with the laptop but on the Inspire all I saw was a horizontal line , with no clock showing. Luckily I had an online chat with a very helpful fitbit rep who informed me that there was a known problem with setting up an Inspire HR directly through a laptop. You first have to set it up through a smart phone or ipad, then sync it to the laptop. Did this through my ipad and it worked first time so if you are having trouble setting up do it through a smart phone or ipad first and not directly through the laptop. Then sync it after setup
