Inspire 2- Dead Battery??? Battery life never over 1%

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My Inspire 2 begins the charging process but never truly charges. When plugged in the smile face pops up and shows on screen it is charging. But battery never gets above 1% not matter how long it is charging. I can scroll through screens but as soon as it gets unplugged nothing works. It only works when plugged in.

What can I do????? Is the exact same issue that my previous FitBit had but thought the issue was due with age. I had it for a few years. But new one started after less than a year of owning it. I bought my  Inpsire 2 brand new at a local retailer.

Need Help!!!! Any advice, help, guidance is greatly appreciated. 😊

Hi, @ALB3 , in this case it might help to clean the charging contacts.  Instructions here .  With luck that will solve your issue.  Fingers crossed!

Also, have you confirmed that the plug you are using is getting power, that the connection with the cable is secure, etc?

unfortunately, if cleaning doesn’t work and there is nothing wrong with the plug/cable, it may be that the battery on your Fitbit has come to the end of its useful life.  As I am sure you are aware, all rechargeable batteries have a limited life span, and how they have been used makes a huge difference in how long they last.  Allowing a modern lithium ion type battery (such as used in Fitbits and other smart watches/ trackers) frequently to discharge completely will significantly shorten its life.  Of course doing this now and again won’t matter, but if your usual practise is to wait to recharge until it is completely (or almost completely) dead, then your battery’s life will be significantly shortened, and could explain what you are seeing.  Ideally you should try to keep your device charged between 30-80% for maximum overall life.  Many people find that daily charging for 15-20 minutes (perhaps when you are showering, or reading or relaxing in front of the TV) keeps their Fitbits in best condition.  I would definitely recommend this!

Depending on which country you are in your Fitbit will be sold with a one or two year warranty, so if your Fitbit is less than that you will need to get in touch with Customer Support.  Even if your Fitbit is older than the warranty period it may be helpful to contact Customer Support as you may be eligible for a discount on a replacement device.  You can reach Customer Support on Contact.Fitbit.com

I hope this helps.  Welcome to the forums!
