Loved my Charge HR until it died. The Inspire 2 had good reviews so I purchased. There are UI issues and major deficiencies in monitoring stairs and treadmill work.
Treadmill - step count misses 9-18% of my steps. I work out at 120 steps per minute, I change my stride length as I change speed. I workout to club mix tapes that are 120 bpm and I spot check in 10 sec intervals to verify. I'm lucky if the Inspire 2 records 100 steps per minute. As I increase speed and inclination the deficit grows larger. I've tried different workout modes and they are worse. Walking, Running. I've tried setting it to non-dominant and putting it on my dominant, still it misses so many steps. I can literally see it freeze for 10+ seconds and then start again, not counting any of the intervening steps. I suspect that there is a race condition in the OS that is causing these issues.
Stairs - I have a two story house and do a regular 20 flights on any given day. My Charge HR had no issues, the Inspire 2 has yet to log a single flight of stairs. Broken.
The non-workout step count UI is complete rubbish. The icon gets more space than the count. What the WAT? How thought that one up? It is so small that you have to stop walking to try and read the tiny font. Use the same font size that you do for the workout step count. C'mon usability anyone?
No main screen with a large step count? Should have a main screen that is divided with Time/Step Count - period. It takes 5 characters to represent time. The Inspire 2 is definitely NOT a fashion statement so stop trying to make the UI as if it is. It should have a completely functional design. Too much fluff, to little data.
My vote is to KILL the Inspire 2 and bring back the original Charge HR. The new stuff tries to do too much and delivers too little. My Amazfit 4 mini does a better job of step count and I can adjust average stride length as it lets me update total distance at the end of the work out on the watch. The amazfit is horrid at sleep tracking.

Hi @D.undee the Inspire 2 is now discontinued with the arrival of the Inspire 3. The Inspire 2 lacks an altimeter, so it can't recognize your flights of stairs. The user manual has the stats available on page 30 - click to read.

Is there a trade in program - I bought this Inspire 2 in June of 22.
This is madness.

@D.undee there is no trade in program for Fitbits. As for the treadmill, if you're holding on the rails, your arms aren't swinging and you do need to move the arms to get the steps noticed.

Nope, not holding the rails. I'm swinging arms in time with steps.
