Inspire 2, Inspire HR, recent issues with tracking sleep

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Hi there, in the last few days - after a recent update - I have the feeling my Inspire 2 is no longer tracking my sleep accurately. In particular, the first hours of sleep are actually not recognized, as if the criteria for classifying sleeping time have become more restrictive. Has anybody else encounter the same issue? Thank you

Moderator edit: clarified subject.

I'm having issues. For the last two nights, my Fitbit has not recorded any sleep data whatsoever. I charged and reset it, and sleep data, which is enabled, is still grayed out    Very annoying

Welcome to the forums @Mattieddu @SuzyGS

Thank you for taking the time to share the inquiry regarding sleep and for trying to fix it on your own.

There could be some reasons why your devices is not getting sleep. I'd recommend considering the following:

  • If you slept in a position that prevented your device from getting a consistent heart-rate reading or wore it too loosely. For best results, wear your device higher on your wrist (about 2-3 finger widths above your wrist bone). The band should feel secure but not too tight.
  • If you used the Begin Sleep Now option in the Fitbit app (instead of simply wearing your device to bed). For more information on automatic sleep tracking, see How do I track my sleep with my Fitbit device?
  • If you slept for less than 3 hours.
  • If your device’s battery is critically low.

For more information, see What should I know about Fitbit sleep stages?

Keep in mind that you must see sleep stages in order to see your sleep score information. Please swipe left on the Sleep Score graph, here you can see information about your weekly sleep average and sleep duration. To get more detailed information, see What's sleep score in the Fitbit app?

If you haven't done so, please restart your device as indicated here.

Slept in a position..... This month is the first time in years I've had issues with the sleep tracker.

I too cannot stand this update. Sleep tracker off and you cannot adjust... my steps aren't counted either. I tested with a garmin next to it.  it now recognizes only 1/3 of my steps.   And I recently got a custom band for it..

I am more upset about the sleep tracker tho.

I agree, except mine is tracking sleep before I go to bed. It’s been out of sync for about a week. Perhaps a problem with the latest update?

I have a similar issue. My Inspire 2 is reporting short blocks of sleep, claiming I have a long block of being awake, 2 to 2.5 hours, in between-when I know I was asleep.
To the Moderator: I am wearing my Inspire properly as advised. My sleep position is the same as it always has been. This is obviously a software/syncing issue.

I have noticed refresh rate issues with the total day’s sleep in the main part of the app, requiring going into the sleep section and back out again in order to update the total, sometimes more than once; sometimes having to click on yesterday, then back to today to get the correct number to display.

My Inspire 2 showed sleep stages and sleep score the first night after the update, but nothing since. Performance seems to get worse after every recent update.

Came here to research the same issue. I have a charge 6, fairly new, no problems before the latest update. Now I'm finding that when I initially fall asleep, that data isn't being tracked - for eg showing when I was awake and then falling asleep. So sometimes it appears to track data from several hours later. For example tracking sleep from 1am when I actually went to bed at 11pm and fell asleep quite quickly. Never had this issue before the update so I don't think it's the way I'm wearing my fitbit. This morning my fitbit was showing that I had slept just over 3 hours. I know I slept more than that. I've struggled with the new design of the sleep tracking function but was prepared to keep using it. However if the sleep tracking now becomes inaccurate as well, I'll be looking to return my fitbit and get a different tracker.
