My Inspire 2 is about 15 months old and has been great, but in the last couple of weeks I've recharged it twice but the battery status on the App on my I-Phone has remained at 22%.
I've tried to reboot the Fitbit and restarted the App but to no avail
Does anybody have any ideas?

Thank you for sharing that you've been having this inconvenience with the battery level on the app.
The team is already aware of this problem and they're currently working to resolve it, but we haven't received other updates for the moment. In the meantime you can force quit the app as described here and reopen it to see the correct % within the iOS app. Rest assured that the battery percentage displayed on your Fitbit device should always be accurate.
