Inspire 2 calories and brightness issues

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I purchased the Inspire 2 about a month ago, and after a month of use, I’m satisfied with some aspects but have many doubts about the product, particularly regarding: the calorie count seems completely inaccurate. How can I adjust it so that calories are only counted when I am actually making an effort, rather than, as it is now, where it seems like I burn 100 calories every hour just sitting at work? Also, how do I increase the brightness of the Inspire 2? When I’m running outdoors, I find it impossible to use because the brightness is too low. Thanks to anyone who can help me solve these issues.

Hi there, @Smaniesh. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I understand your concern, I will do my best to help you with this!

Please note that there is no way to turn off the BMR. W
hen you create a Fitbit account, the website uses your physical data (weight, height etc) to calculate your BMR calories. These are the minimum calories you'd need to burn every day to stay alive. It then populates your profile with this calorie burn back for six months or so to give you a sensible baseline against which to compare your future calorie burn once your Fitbit device starts tracking your exercise and adding exercise calories to your BMR calories. The short answer is that what you're seeing is correct behavior and the calorie counts re individualized to you.

Thanks for your feedback about having this option available for Fitbit devices. I can see your point of view and I understand why this might be helpful. I'd suggest adding your comment and voting for this suggestion: Separate BMR from Activity Calories Burned. I suggest you participate there, leave your comments and vote. We look forward to reviewing your input.
