My 13 year old got an Inspire 2 for Christmas. However her google account is still parent managed so it would only set up a parent managed fitbit account which only allows the Ace devices to be connected? Is there a way around this other than setting up a second Gmail? It seems ridiculous as she is already 13 (and that is her age set on Google) it's just that we still manage her accou t for supervision reasons.
Moderator edit: clarified subject.

Hi @iKeah92. Welcome to the forums.
Thank you for sharing the details about this situation with your Inspire 2.
If your child turns 13, she and your family manager will get an email. In this case, your child can choose between these options:
Please check the inbox or the spam out in order to see if you got the email.

@iKeah92 @PLOWELL13 Different moderators posted a different response. A child must be on an unsupervised Google account in order to setup an Inspire 2 (and any non Ace Fitbit).

Do you mean the email from Google? The options you're given are to continue with the current parent management settings or remove the parent management.
@LZeeW From your response below it seems that it isn't possible to set up the Inspire with a parent managed Google account which is a real issue. Is there a way that Fitbit can be alerted to look into fixing this?
I used the online chat feature to also bring up this issue and was told as long as she was 13 an Inspire could be set up on her account regardless of parent management, but I think I was given wrong information.

My child turned 13 last November so I've been going though this recently. Here goes:
The e-mail from Google will give two options for the child, which are basically:
1. "I am old enough to assume responsibility for my own account"
2. "I am not yet old enough and want to continue just like before"
Assuming the child picks option 1, the account will be turned into a "regular" Google account. This will (or should!) enable the account to be used with Fitbit. But now that the child has assumed responsibility, he/her can "ask the parents to help manage the sceen time and app usage" or something to that effect. This basically means that the child has consented to re-enable parental controls (while the account will still be a "regular" account), and the controls will work like they did before. The difference is that the child can take back the conscent with a 24 hour delay IIRC.
Now, the problem with Fitbit is that they will not recognize that a Google account has transitioned to a "regular" account. I have spent several hours with Fitbit support, but there seems to be no way to fix this as a user, other than to create a junk new Google account simply to use with Fitbit. However using more than one Google account will not work on a parental managed phone, since it only allows one single Google account to be present. If you abandon the child's previous Google account and exclusively use the new one, you might get more lucky though.
I can't begin to express the frustration I've felt around this. But Fitbit seems to have no clue about how to implement Google identities in a sane way.
