Inspire 2 counting bicep curls as steps

So I decided to take my inspire 2 to the gym today, and yes today was a busy day so i was accumulating my steps, and on the way to the gym I was wondering “how will it know I am doing biceps? or chest etc?”.

Got to the gym, activated the exercise mode and chose weights. After a good 40 minutes the app gave me an additional several hundreds of steps in an extremely short amount of time. I even got a congratulations message telling me i’ve reached 10k. Surely this can’t be right? is it tracking my arm curls as steps? and if so, what can i do about this?

Hi @BalitsAaron. It's good to see you participating in the community for the first time.

Unfortunately it is an expected device behavior at the moment for the device to count steps while doing weights. There's currently not a Mode feature to avoid these extra steps. However, I do recommend that you vote for this idea posted in the Feature Suggestion board of the Community, since this is helpful for the team of developers to continue to track popularity and demand over time.

Keep in mind that you can’t delete steps and floors; instead, you can log a non-step-based activity to override the steps or floors recorded; you can check this article for more information.

In addition, please check out if your phone is counting steps in addition to your tracker. To see it, go to the Today tab > Devices (Top left corner), Under connections tap Phone. Once there, try to turn the option off.

It’s the same with doing chores in the garden; bigger arm movements are counted as steps… Somewhat logical because the device is on my wrist, but that’s not what I want to count.
