Inspire 2 counting steps when in sleeping

Ever since i got back from a holiday/different timezone, my fitbit step counting has gone haywire. I wake up from sleep and somehow i have 4k steps already. Over the period when sleep was being tracked. First time it happened i left it alone, then it started tracking larger amounts of steps. I tracked driving for the entire sleep period and it fixed it. But not i stopped wearong my fitbit to sleep and its still tracked steps, even more than when i wore it. Ive tried to reboot the tracker, deletes all previous day steps and i still have this issue of exceasive step counts. I sync on a samsung flip 3, but no issues with syncing.

Hi @Deyo. It's good to see you participating in the community.

Thank you for sharing the details regarding the Inspire 2 and for trying to fix it on your own.

There are a few reasons why this could happen. If you're sleeping close to something that could emit a certain vibration, like a window, a fan or other type of machine.

On the other hand, let me know if you have MobileTrack installed on the Fitbit app. This feature allows you to record basic stats such as steps using your phone's sensors. That being said, if there was a fan or something vibrating nearby, that might be the reason why you receive these extra amount of steps. Assuming this is correct, I'd recommend removing it by doing the following:

  1. Open the Fitbit app and tap your phone and device icon on the top left corner.
  2. Tap Phone:
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to remove it from your account.
  4. Continue using your Inspire 2 and let me know how it goes.

Please sync, and try to see how it goes during the next 2 nights.
