Initially, my Inspire 2's battery had been draining faster than normal, in 2-3 days instead of the typical 10 days. I was checking Settings on my device, looking for notifications or something that might be overactive and using more power, when I clicked on something which I no longer remember. Suddenly, "Download the Fitbit mobile app" started to scroll on the device display. After ~5 secs, the screen will go dark, but when I squeeze on the side buttons, it reappears. I attached it to my charger and performed a reboot, but "Download the Fitbit mobile app" continues to display on the screen.
Any insight into what happened?
Suggestions on a fix?

Hi there, @Cast_Off. Thanks for stopping by in the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for bringing this to my attention and for the troubleshooting steps you've tried. I'm sorry to hear that your Inspire 2 is stuck on that message. I understand your concern, I will be glad to help you!
As per the message on the Fitbit device's screen, it seems that your Inspire 2 is asking you to pair it properly, have you unpaired it by any chance? With that being said, I'd suggest doing the following:
If you can't get started with your Fitbit device, usually a missing requirement is the cause. Carefully review the requirements provided in the help article Why can't I set up my Fitbit device?

Thanks so much, MarreFitbit! The pairing process has got my Inspire 2 connected again and it now is seems to be behaving normally.
The fast battery drain started me exploring what might be causing that, but in the midst of that, I got a new phone. I had been able to pair it initially, but my continued poking around in the Settings on the device must have unpaired it. We'll seen now if battery life has returned to normal.

@Cast_Off I'm glad to hear that the steps recommended did the trick! 🙂
To better assist you, would you mind confirming if the issue with the battery is with your Inspire 2 or your phone? If you're referring to your Inspire 2, please see Can I extend my Fitbit device's battery life?
Nonetheless, please bear in mind that as all rechargeable batteries age, they deteriorate to some extent and an older device will need to be charged more often than a new one. The best way of minimizing this effect is to avoid deep discharges of the battery. To maximize the overall life of your Fitbit device's battery, ideally keep it between 20-80%. Many people find that a daily battery boost works best ( e.g. giving it a 15 minutes charge while you are showering in the morning).

Thank you for your reply, MarreFitBit.
The fast battery discharge was occurring both on my old phone and my new phone. I lack precise numbers, but on my new phone, the battery went from 95% charge to 5% charge in less that 3 1/2 days, whereas it used to last at least 10 days. I guess I was not so good at prolonging the battery life, b/c I usually fully charged it and would let it run down to 15 to 20% before charging again.
I'll read through the Can I extend my Fitbit device's battery life? advice.
