Inspire 2 flashing on and off

My Inspire 2 is constantly flashing on and off, on for 5 sec off for 1 sec back on for 5 secs.  I have turned it off - restarted it.  I have charged it, nothing helps (I've even changed the clock face setting as someone suggested).  It is only about 6 mths old.  This is the 2nd time this has happened. The first time, I put it on the charger and by the time it was fully charged, it qas back to normal.  Today I've charged it twice....it went from 100% down to 68% in about 5 hrs (i assume due to the flashing on and off)
