Welcome to the Fitbit Community forums, @Ronnyt

Thank you for sharing this information about the inconvenience you've been experiencing with your Inspire 2.

Before considering other options, please keep in mind that there are some factors that may prevent your tracker from recording your sleep. Please make sure of the following:

  • If you slept in a position that prevented your device from getting a consistent heart-rate reading or wore it too loosely. For best results, wear your device as described in this help article.
  • If you slept for less than 1 hour for sleep patterns or less than 3 hours for sleep stages.
  • If your device’s battery is critically low.

If you haven't done so already, please try to complete a restart procedure following the steps listed here and try changing the sleep sensitivity on your app settings. In addition, please wear your device on your non-dominant hand and monitor it for the next few days. In the meantime, for the nights that don't have sleep data, you can manually log your sleep by going to the Fitbit app, tapping on the "+" icon next to the sleep tile > Add Sleep Log and entering your details.

I'll be around.

My Fitbit stopped registering my sleep after the last update. I am not happy with this version of my Fitbit.

@RonnytSteps not working implies damage or a defect since I'm fairly sure there's no way to disable step tracking within the settings.

@Happyhappy2022Does it also no longer track your heart rate?

Heart rate tracking is necessary for sleep tracking, so if that no longer works then fixing it might fix the sleep tracking.

First, make sure your Fitbit is set to On Wrist. To do this, access the secret settings by holding both side buttons for about 2 seconds. You should see Water Lock pop up, scroll down to the bottom of this list and make sure it says On Wrist. If it says On Clip, tap that and change it to On Wrist.

If that doesn't fix your heart rate tracking, there is another option in the regular settings. Briefly tap both side buttons until the screen turns on and shows your main watch face (time, etc). Scroll up until you see the gear icon with Settings under it. Tap that and the first option should be Dim Screen, the second should be Phone GPS and the third should be Heart Rate. Make sure Heart Rate is set to On.

@Happyhappy2022 Could you please confirm if you already tried all the steps suggested here earlier to resolve issues to track sleep information?

In addition, I've been informed that you already contacted the Customer Support team for further assistance with this and it seems they've provided you with some instructions. In this case, they will let you know how to proceed.

@Ronnyt That's great news, thank you for sharing this update!

Have a good day.
