I use the unit for recording distance, walking time etc. Lately the information being recorded on my standard walk(s) is crazy. Today I did my usual - walk is about 5.5 - 6 miles, time should be around 1hr 40mins etc.
Dashboard data tells me
61,561 steps 27.83 miles 76 active minutes
Detail further down the app tells me
54.54 miles walked in 1hr 11min
I know I walk a lot but i wasn't in a Porsche at the time! Going to start using GPS distance and stopwatch.
Moderator edit: clarified subject.

Welcome to the forums @Doie.
Thank you for providing the details regarding your activity with the Inspire 2 and the difficulty with the Fitbit app.
Before considering other options, I'd recommend you confirm if you are using Mobile track. t is a service that allows you to count steps using your phone even if you forget to wear your Fitbit. You can "unpair" Mobile Track from your account. On your Fitbit app go to the upper left corner, on the phone and device icon. Click on your phone icon and on the 3 dots and choose "unpair".
As you mentioned you'll begin to use GPS please keep in mind that all devices with GPS sensors require a direct path to GPS satellites to calculate location. A weak GPS signal might affect the accuracy of your route and other activity data. Your device uses your step count to calculate distance until it finds a signal, so the total distance calculated for a workout may be slightly less accurate when GPS isn't available for the entire time
I'd like you to follow these best practices when using GPS.

I re-installed the app and checked out the accuracy today on another walk but it continues to show screwed up distance and step counts. On todays 10km walk it tells me I did nearly 69000 steps and the map looks a childs line drawing. I checked this against the results recorded by Google Map using the same GPS which gives me an accurate route.
I'm deleting the app as it's of no use to me and I'll stay with the Inspire until I get tired of manually recording the data
