Inspire 2 is not tracking my distance accurately

Open question to the forum. Has anyone had to set their stride length to a really large number to accommodate for step tracking discrepancies? I'm currently using an inspire 2 and noticed if I set the stride length as per the recommended method I'm tracking way more steps than should be. Just wondered if anyone else has experienced this.

Hi there, @Mcguffin1801. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for the details provided in your post about the inconvenience with your Inspire 2. I understand where your concern is coming from.

If you feel that your step count and distance are inaccurate, confirm the following are correct in the Fitbit app:

As you mentioned, we use height to estimate your walking and running stride lengths, you may want to measure and manually adjust these values if your legs are longer or shorter than average. Please confirm that you've checked this help article for more information How does my Fitbit device calculate my daily activity?

On the other hand, please note when you track an activity with GPS, your device calculates your distance using GPS data rather than steps. If you begin moving before you get a GPS signal, your device calculates distance using your steps until GPS connects.

To update your stride length, track a run with GPS or measure your stride length manually. For more information, see Can I change my stride length in my Fitbit account?

For more information about GPS, see How do I use GPS on my Fitbit device?

Hope this helps!
