My inspire 2 logs 8,000 - 11,000 steps daily but I’m at my desk working almost all day long. I finally saw that whenever I move my left hand (not my dominant) it racks up steps but not when I walk. I’m about to return it. Is this broken or how the Inspire 2 works? I don’t want to clip it to clothing on a different body part because seeing my heart rate is important to me and I bought it to wear as a watch on my wrist.
Can someone recommend models that detect steps without arm movement counting?

Hi @Counting these are wrist based devices and count on the arm movement to recognize steps. If you're pushing a shopping cart or stroller, your steps aren't all recognized. If you're knitting, playing guitar or waving - steps are overly high. You can change the sensitivity of it. click to learn more.

Is Charge 5 the only step counting device? I was trying to save money buying the cheaper inspire 2 but have zero interest to count my wrist movements. Getting 9000 “steps” just by moving my wrist on a daily basis is completely meaningless to me. Thanks.

@Counting they are all wrist based, but a few of them, including the Inspire 2 can be used with an optional clip. Some people find using the clip is more reliable since it won't count arm movements.
