I've had an Inspire 2 for a couple of weeks and the step counter is wildly overcounting the number of steps. It's not just tens or even hundreds but thousands each day. I estimate that it records double the actual number taken. As it calculates distance and calories from the step count these are wrong as well. This is supposed to be a tracker but, given its inaccuracy this is something of an exaggeration. Come on Fitbit, issue an update so that we can adjust the sensitivity of it as you can on other trackers!

Hi @SunRai. Welcome to the community forums.
Thanks for all the information that you've shared about this inconvenience with your Inspire 2.
I recommend you to check your demographics in your profile into your account.
Keep in mind the algorithm is designed to look for intensity and motion patterns that are most indicative of people walking and running. When working at a desk, cooking, or performing other activities with arm movements, a device on your wrist may add some steps. When you’re doing activities that involve arm movement, such as working or cooking, you often walk a few steps in-between stationary periods as well, so the device tries to give you credit for those steps. For most customers, the number of extra steps added by arm-based movement isn’t significant when compared to your overall stats.
Before considering other options, and if you still consider the steps are not accurate, please make sure that you've tried the restart procedure as described in this article, then check if you continue to experience the same behavior. In the meantime, you can find more useful information about the accuracy of Fitbit devices and how to adjust your stride length and dominant hand settings here.

Fitbit does not calculate calorie burn from step count, unless perhaps if you are using "on clip" that might be a factor.

Hi there, @Olorian. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for the details provided in your post about the issue with your Inspire 2.
As a first approach, please take into consideration the information provided by @JohnnyRow.
On a side note, do you have another app connected to your Fitbit account that could might be adding more steps? Mobiletrack maybe? Low-power step sensors inside your phone track your steps and send the data to the Fitbit app. We recommend using MobileTrack if you forget your Fitbit device at home.
Note that adding more than one Fitbit device to your account gives you the convenience of switching between devices while still seeing a holistic view of your daily activity on your dashboard.
Know that you can negate the extra steps in the Fitbit app. For more information, see How do I add, edit, or delete Fitbit data and activities?
Was my post helpful? Give it a thumbs up to show your appreciation! Of course, if this was the answer you were looking for, don't forget to make it the Best Answer! Als...

Contrary to what was just recommended by @MarreFitbit , it is nearly impossible to add another Fitbit to an existing account, unless you are lucky enough to have a much older Fitbit model with a battery that has not yet died.
From Can I use more than one Fitbit device with the same account?
Also, I, personally, suggest avoiding adding MobileTrack as a device unless you have a need for it. Some user have experienced having tens of thousands of steps suddenly added all at once, and, though not confirmed, these cases seem to all, or at least mostly, have MobileTrack installed.

Mine is doing the same. No extra devices, no extra apps, counting many hundreds of steps over
