Inspire 2 little pieces of plastic broke off

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I have an Inspire 2. Yesterday, I was tightening the strap and little pieces of plastic on the main body of the tracker broke off. This plastic was part of what keeps the strap on the tracker. I have been able to reattach the strap, but it's wonky and will come undone if I put unexpected tension on it. The pieces of plastic were simply too small to glue together. Is there any way to fix this? Tracker still works well and it would be a shame to chuck it because the strap won't stay on. This is not a problem that a new strap would fix. There's literally not enough plastic on the body of the tracker to keep the thing fully securely attached. Thanks for any ideas.

Hi @Scaputo215  you have two options to fix it. First, your Inspire 2 can be worn with an optional clip. Second would be to find a protective band on Amazon which takes the pebble portion of the Inspire 2 and encloses it completely. You won't need to worry about the band snapping into place, as it replaces the existing band.

Optional clip can be found most anywhere, just make sure it works with the Inspire 2.

Click this to see the protective band. This is just one I saw but there are several more available. This one had a good picture to show how it works.

Hey, thanks! I'll check both the clip and the protective band out. I had no
idea those solutions were available. .

Welcome to the community forums @Scaputo215.

In addition to the mentioned by @Odyssey13, I'd recommend you visit the official retailers of Fitbit on the website:  Find it all at Fitbit.com

Hope you will find the best option to continue using the device.

Thanks @Odyssey13 for your helpful information.

The same thing happened to me TWICE. The first one broke and they sent me a replacement then that one broke 6 months later. When I contacted customer support they informed me the warranty is expired. I was confused because I just got the new one 6 months ago but the warranty period applies to the originally purchased product. Customer gave me the run around and they won't replace it. I looked at other topics in the forum and customers have similar issues with other products. I hope you have better luck!

@AlyssaP3  replacements have the remainder of the original warranty period, not a new year warranty. If your pebble piece works, then get one of those protective band covers for it or get the optional clip.

The issue for me is that there is defective part that consistently breaks. I've seen this same issue across the forums. If I need to buy additional parts/ accessories to make a fitbit work then unfortunately its not a product I want to keep putting money toward. I appreciate your advice though, thank you for taking the time to respond!

@AlyssaP3  the protective bands are under $20, so you can keep using the Inspire 2. The clip is about the same price. I know it's not solving the issue of the broken clip for the band, but it's a way to keep using what you already have and not purchase a new Fitbit.
