I swam for 75 min and it didn't record any of it. It was in water lock mode. Does it not record swimming when locked?

@DeaconPat Thanks for stopping by!

You need to perform the activity for at least 10 consecutive minutes for the tracker to automatically detect it. You can refer to this help article for guidance on how to do this.

Hope this helps.

I have been swimming for 20 - 30 minutes. It records as ellipitical?? I tried removing elliptical from list of exercises and it didn’t record anything? This is very annoying as my basic Fitbit recorded it fine and though the Inspire would be better or at least as good, my main exercise is swimming.

@DeaconPat thank you for the update.

Have you added the swimming option after removing the Elliptical one?  If not have you tried using the Exercise shortcut on your tracker to manually start recording this activity? This would be a better option but you can try both on your device.

I'll be around.

Yes, swimming already on list and when I removed elliptical morning was recorded! Can adjust exercise afterwards but not ideal. Will try and start swim just before I swim but not sure how to do that.

The one time mine recorded, it recorded as elliptical as well until I stopped to talk to the lifeguard for 10 seconds and then it changed to swimming. I swam approximately 20 minutes before I stopped to talk. Yesterday it gave me walking from the time I left my car to go to the gym until the time I got out of the pool.  This morning while riding the riding lawn mower I got bicycle for an hour. GPS is off. I cannot set it in the gym for swimming because it's too dark to see the screen. By the way I checked, and the dim screen is not on. I have had this thing for a week and I absolutely hate it. It froze tonight while I was trying to scroll through it and remained black so I had to reset it. That's the third time I've had to reset it since I got it. I was allegedly supposed to hear from Fitbit because I have a case number but I'm guessing I won't.

Also, I have gone into my phone and tried to remove the activities that are in there that I don't want. Not only can I not remove them but I can't even reorder them so swimming is number one.

Here's a copy...

"Thank you! We created a case for you (40779803). We’ll be in touch by email, but you can call or chat with us during business hours at contact.fitbit.com for faster service. Please reference your case number if you reach out, and thanks for your patience."

I just don't have the patience to sit on a chat with someone and to be told to repeat every step that I've already been told to do and that I have done numerous times and nothing works.

Did it record any exercise. When new mine used to record swimming as an
exercise. Water lock should be on

YYeah, even with water lock on it sometimes chooses elliptical, sometimes chooses swimming and will often cut off part way through swimming. I just like the inspire. The Garmin swim2 is great for swimming however it's lousy for steps so I wear two, one for swimming and one for walking. Once I am done with the program I am on for insurance purposes, I will no longer use the inspire. I will most likely just trash it. It has been a very poor performing device even though I had it replaced once. The only thing that improved on it when it was replaced was that I was able to at least see the screen when I was at the pool. A lot of good that did me however since it didn't work properly anyhow.

If it records it as elliptical as mine did when I first used it, you can change this to swimming, I had to do this a few times before it began recognising the swimming but is fine now.

I have this same problem.

I water lock it, swim laps, and it does not record it.

One time it did record my swimming, and now it does not.

And I cannot find swimming as an activity to choose as I am doing it, only if I log it later.
