Inspire 2 not tracking mileage

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Today I have done nearly 6miles. In the exercise tile the app acknowledges the 6miles (both with listed exercises done and on the bar chart). On the dash board it only acknowledges 3miles and the fitbit bingo game recognises even less. This is a recurring issue. I've tried resyncing my fitbit (no effect) and also tried turning phone off and on again (which worked for a while). How do I fix this?

@Angelcake Hi there. Thanks for the detailed information shared.

It's odd what you're experiencing. I appreciate the troubleshooting performed prior to posting. Take into consideration that for Challenges, only distance tracked with your Fitbit tracker/watch will count towards your goals. May I know if any activity was manually tracked?

@kjynella69 Welcome to the Fitbit Community.

Your Fitbit will multiply steps for stride length and get distance travelled. I'd like you to make sure, stride length has been entered in your account, this to ensure you get distance tracked.

Hope this helps.

Yes some activities were manually added. On some occasions manually added exercise is recognised on the dashboard and other times it's not. GPS tracked walks don't always register either.

How do I get it to recognise miles from static gym equipment without manually inputting the distance covered?

@Angelcake Thank you for getting back.

I'd like you to make sure that you're tracking activities either by using the exercise app on your Inspire 2 which will track GPS data if the activity has GPS connected or by using SmartTrack which will automatically recognized your activity.

Take into consideration that Fitbit devices will multiply steps for stride length and then calculate distance traveled. In order to track distance traveled on static gym equipment, it's recommended to manually enter it on to your Dashboard.

If you're still experiencing difficulties with mileage, attach a screenshot to your next reply.

Hope this helps.

yes the activities on static gym equipment were manually added. The walk was done on gps via firbit phone app. 5.51 miles recorded, only 3.04 miles acknowledged on dashboard, only 1.5miles were acknowledged by bingo game (didn't screenshot at the time and too late now).

Tracking on fitbit on wrist alone doesn't work, recorded a 3.5mile walk as only 1.5miles.

I have checked stride length and it appears to be correct.

Here I am not quite a year later and still having this issue. A walk I know for certain is 2.5 miles only acknowledged as 0.9 miles by wrist tracker. I can't edit what it tracked so have to delete autorecognised walk and then manually add the walk with correct mileage, which then doubles my step count making that inaccurate.

Trying to gps track on phone is no help as its now stopped working if phone is screenlocked (wasn't accurately recording mileage walked even when gps track did work but was out by slightly less, ie:2.5 mile walk would register as 1.3 miles). This is incredibly frustrating as can't properly monitor progress (and obviously makes playing any of your challenges pointless).
