Guys I’m desperate. I got inspire 2 almost solely to track my sleep. After the first night I was so happy! Seeing different stages REM, light sleep, times I was awake etc. From the second night onwards I only get you slept x amount of hours. And how long it took me to go to sleep but nothing like the first night. I have premium account. What’s going on?

@justynaabram @DaveTilly Thank you for your insight.
If the previous settings have been checked and you're still not receiving sleep stages, please check the following scenarios where you might see your sleep pattern (which shows your time asleep, restless, and awake) instead of sleep stages:
Let me know how it goes.

@justynaabram A warm welcome to the Fitbit Community. Thanks for the details mentioned.
In order for your Inspire 2 to track sleep stages, it needs 90 minutes of sleep data as this is the time that your body typically goes through several sleep cycles.
Take into consideration that there's no need to track your sleep through your Fitbit app, just wear your Inspire 2 at night and it will track your sleep automatically. Also, make sure that On Wrist and Heart Rate are turned on in the Settings app by press and hold both buttons.
Let me know how it goes.

Hi, the 'on wrist' setting can be found on the quick menu - press the sides for a couple of seconds and a menu will come up with 'DND', 'Sleep', 'Water lock' and the if you keep scrolling down you'll see 'on wrist' or ' on clip'. It needs to be on wrist for heart rate data - the 'on clip' setting is if you want to wear it on a belt clip.
If you are getting heart rate data for exercise, it is probably already set to on wrist😃
Ps - Heart rate can be turned on and off from the main 'Settings' menu (scroll down from he time watchface until you see it).

No idea - I haven't had sleep stages or a sleep score since I bought mine a week ago. I only get basic sleep data every night and have tried pretty much everything to fix it.

Hi @SilviaFitbit ,
I've tried following that advice previously. The device has consistently been at more than 50% charge, I haven't been using the app to start sleep and I've tried 2-3 finger widths above my wrist bone. I still only get basic sleep stages with an error that it can't get a consistent heart rate. As previously mentioned I get HR data consistently through the day and during exercise.

Premium member here. Same/similar problem. I received a new Inspire2 last week (replacing an AltaHR). I got 2 days of normal Sleep Score & Stages results, then on thursday I got a Sleep Score but my stages graphy was just a long flat light blue line- 100% Light sleep with one wakeup (when our 4 year old came into our bedroom.) 5:45 hrs -- 100% light sleep, No Deep, No REM. I thought 'that's weird" but it's been just the same for every single night since then. I am getting the sleep score, but NO stages other than "Light" and "Awake". I sleep about 6 hrs/night with about 10-15 min awake
I have done all the usual checks/fixes: HR is on and I get HR throughout the day. Not using "begin sleep". Devices is set for "on wrist" Device has consistently been at more than 50% charge, I haven't been using the app to start sleep and I've tried 2-3 finger widths above my wrist bone. I also turned of HR then turned it back on. I also restarted my Inspire2. I have tried both "Sensitive" and "Normal" sleep settings. What on earth is going on? Never seen this before. I
Here's what that looks like -- 6 days in a row now : https://photos.app.goo.gl/ojwvi4LinxiepuyV7

Hi all,
I finally got a sleep score and sleep stages last night for the first time! I wore my Inspire 2 on the inside of my wrist and it worked!
This was suggested by someone on a fitness website.
@SilviaFitbit please can I suggest you recommend this as part of your standard advice?
Another issue - similar to that raised by others. This morning after synching, I got sleep stages and a sleep score. When opening the app later in the day, this had reverted to basic sleep data.
Clearly this is an issue with the back end software, as the Inspire 2 wouldn't have caused this.

@DaveTilly Thanks for the tips shared.
In order for the Inspire 2 to track sleep stages, it needs to track heart rate data, this is why if you sleep in a position that prevented your device from getting a consistent heart-rate reading or wore it loosely, you might not see sleep stages in the morning. It's recommended to wear the tracker higher on your wrist (about 2-3 finger widths above your wrist bone) This should feel secure but not too tight.
If your sleep stages are reverted back to sleep patterns, please make sure to take screenshots and attach them to your next reply for further investigation.
Have a nice day.

@SilviaFitbit Here are screenshots from this morning followi g a successful night of tracking sleep stages:
As can be seen, I got a graph with sleep score and was able to access the details. Later on in the afternoon no sleep score graph - it just shows a blank screen as it if is attempting to load data:
And I did try turning my phone off and in again.
Any ideas welcomed.

Same issue here. I've had mine for three days and never have gotten sleep data other than total time slept. I've double-checked everything mentioned in this thread and the only thing I adjusted was that "on wrist" setting. Let's see how it goes tonight. And it requires you to sleep 3 hours???? Doesn't that kind of defeat the purpose for those who are having sleep issues? I can tell you that I was up 5 different times last night, so probably never got a full 3 hours of uninterrupted sleep. And I'm n a detox diet so no caffeine! ugh!

Another unhappy fitbitter here. I've had the unit for 2 weeks. My sleep tracking has been working well until 4 nights ago, when it started to record only the first 3 - 4 hours. I haven't changed anything, the settings are all still the same, I'm wearing it in the same place on my wrist, there is plenty of charge in the battery. From what I read in other posts the things are a dud. I bought a Fitbit because I didn't want to put up with a cheap and nasty knock-off. Looks like I paid 4 times the money for the same result!!
Not good enough!

@DaveTilly Thanks for the screenshot attached and the details shared. In this case, please log out from the app, force quit it, restart your phone, clear cache, log back in and continue monitoring the app.
@DebSilb @Pancho1301 Hi there. Thanks for taking the time to share what you're experiencing.
I see where your disappointment is coming from. In order for your Fitbit Inspire 2 to track sleep stages, this is because your body cycles through several sleep cycles during this time. Learn more about it by checking this article What should I know about Fitbit sleep stages?

same problem with my inspire 2 re sleep stages. I've trouble shooted everything and still the device no longer records my sleep stages. Major fail Fitbit. I will not be wasting my money on Fitbit Premium you can bet on that.
Same here. I got sleep stages info a few times now nada. Pretty annoyed and pretty certain this is increasing my heartrate...

I'm only getting sleep stages intermittently now after a couple of weeks with only basic sleep data (see pic below). I haven't changed anything and the only way I can get it to work is wearing it on the inside of my wrist. But even then I don't get consistent results. I've given up worrying about it. It is definitely a software algorithm issue unless my heart is stopping overnight💀 But I'm pretty sure I'd know about that🤔
