I've had my Inspire 2 for 14 months and the screen has gone black and won't light up. It's still measuring my info and synced, and vibrates when I touch the sides. The app is updated. I've tried hard reset twice and reached out to customer service twice. They say I'm out of warranty and they only offer a small discount for a new one.
I don't intend to buy a new device just because the one I own malfunctioned shortly after a year of use.
Has anyone found a way to repair or reset this themselves, before I toss it in the trash?

I'm having the same issue described here. Restarting results in the smiley face coming up twice for a short period of time then going back to a black screen. I changed the clock style from the app, my Fitbit is fully charged and is still logging data and sending it to my phone.
I think it is a software issue and hope they address this issue, seems many users are having the same problem.

Mine started doing the same thing a few weeks ago. Black screen, reset makes the smiley face show up then back to black screen. I've had mine maybe 2 years? What's the life span- a couple days after the warranty runs out? Hahahaha

Welcome to the forums @Juliette85 @Jo1023 @Top-13
Thank you for taking the time to share the details regarding the situation experienced with Inspire 2 and for the attempts to fix it on your own. I'm sorry to know the difficulties.
@Juliette85 I've been informed that you already contacted the Customer Support team for further assistance with this. In this case, they will let you know how to proceed. Please keep an eye on your inbox.
I'm not sure if you are still having difficulties with the tracker. Please, try to sync the device with the app. If you find some difficulty to sync, please visit this article: Why won't my Fitbit device sync?
If you haven't done a restart before, please follow the steps listed in this article.
Please, try to change the clock face on the device through the app as is indicated in this article: How do I change the clock face on my Fitbit device?
In addition, please check if the device is not setting up in Do Not Disturb mode.

@ManuFitbit, thank you for reaching out.
I posted the question here in the community because I have contacted customer service multiple times and they say they cannot help further. I followed all their instructions, and the only alternative they come up with is to buy a new device with a 35% discount. That option is preposterous. I bought my device less than 14 months ago and I have to discard it and buy another one, albeit with a small discount? And on top of it all, I am clearly not the only one experiencing this defect. And most people have been told the same thing. It baffles me that a company like this would be OK with offering a product that only functions correctly for about a year and becomes useless once the warranty expires.

I have an inspire 2 & the screen isn't black but the display isn't near as bright as it used to be. Tried chatting with a rep, but I kept having to go between what he was telling me to do & the app on line. Nothing has made the screen brighter. I've had several of these inspire 2's so don't know why this is happening. I wait to charge it until the % is low too. Does anyone suggest what to do on this forum?
