I’ve now had 2 Fitbits where the screen has gone so dim I’ve been unable to see it and it’s no longer usable. Each one was out of warranty and no solution given by support. What a waste of money, these products are obviously terrible quality for this to happen to me twice.

I have the exact same experience. Screen on my first one started going dark to the point of being unreadable after around 2 years. Stupidly I bought another one. Same thing happened after 2 years. It's now a useless piece of expensive trash -- and worst yet I had bought several extra straps that are now also useless. Will switch to another brand that will cost one-fifth of the price. If it fails in 2 years, like the Fitbit surely will, then I won't have wasted as much money. It's ridiculous how much Fitbit charges for a product that becomes useless after a couple years. And it's not like they don't know about these defects and failures. Deleting my account after this.

I'm having the same issue. I was hoping maybe an install of another clock face might help but I'm also having trouble getting it to sync after upgrading my phone.

I tried various clock faces and none of them made the screen any more viewable. I also did all the recommended troubleshooting such as restarts, resets, etc. Sadly, I think Fitbit screens are built to last only 2 years maximum. Given their high cost and the many, many reports of people experiencing the same thing, I think that's pretty terrible. I bought another pedometer watch on Amazon for a mere fraction of the cost of the Fitbit, and even if it lasts only a couple years at least I won't be out that much money.
