Inspire 2 stopped auto-recognizing my swimming

I have been lap swimming for many years and using my Inspire 2 to track my swimming. In the last month my Inspire 2 stopped auto recognizing swimming. It records my swim as steps. I have to manually log a swim now and when I add the swim it removes steps from my daily total  I have Swimming turned on in the list of exercises to auto recognize. Did something change in the FitBit?

Hi there, @TerriCotta. Welcome to the Community Forums. Thanks for the details provided in your post about the issue with your Inspire 2. I understand where your concern is coming from.

As a first approach, I suggest restarting your Fitbit device by following these steps. Once this has been performed, please test your Inspire 2 and see if the issue persists.

If it does, as you may know, most Fitbit devices automatically recognize and record high-movement activities through the SmartTrack feature. To start, the default duration settings of your Fitbit device is 15 minutes long. However, you can change the amount of time needed to record the activity. To do so, please follow the next steps:

  1. Tap the Today tab , then tap the Exercise tile.
  2. Tap the gear icon in the top right.
  3. Tap an exercise, and adjust the duration or turn off Auto-recognize.

You can learn more about the SmartTrack feature in this link How do I track my activity with my Fitbit device?

Keep in mind that you can also use the Exercise app to start and stop a workout. For more information, see How do I track my workouts with my Fitbit device?
