My sleep was recording correctly until 2 days ago. Now it is haywire with no score. I hv reset n relaunch to no avail. suspect there is sensor failure as hr is not detected too probably linked to water lockup intermittent locking in. Pls advise before I return your product

@Hengmw88 One feature of the Inspire 2 is that you have the option to wear it on your wrist or on a clip. If it is set to wear on a clip, the heart rate monitoring will be turned off and the green lights won't be on.

To check this, press and hold both buttons on the sides of the Inspire 2. You'll get a list of settings. Swipe until you get to the bottom of the list. It should say "On Wrist", if you want see your heart rate and sleep stages. If it says "On Clip", tap on that and change it to "On Wrist".

Hi there, @Hengmw88. Welcome to the Community Forums. Thanks for the details provided in your post about the issue with your Inspire 2. I understand where your concern is coming from.

Keep in mind that you must see sleep stages in order to see your sleep score information. Please swipe left on the Sleep Score graph, here you can see information about your weekly sleep average and sleep duration. To get more detailed information, see What's sleep score in the Fitbit app?

With that in mind, I recommend considering the following in order to get sleep stages:

  • If you slept in a position that prevented your device from getting a consistent heart-rate reading or wore it too loosely. For best results, wear your device higher on your wrist (about 2-3 finger widths above your wrist bone). The band should feel secure but not too tight.
  • If you used the Begin Sleep Now option in the Fitbit app (instead of simply wearing your device to bed). For more information on automatic sleep tracking, see How do I track my sleep with my Fitbit device?
  • If you slept for less than 3 hours.
  • If your device’s battery is critically low.

For more information, see What should I know about Fitbit sleep stages?

Hope this helps.

thks u are right.. somehow it goes to clip after I reset.. I hv problem to deactivate the water lock.. any way? as it always reset to water lock by itself... will this affect the actual bpm readings? Seems to be intermittently read bpm... on the watch there is a score... how to activate this?

Will this green lazer below inspire 2 watch affects by emc near my work place? I am concern with the both accuracy n data integrity..

The lights on your Inspire 2 are LEDs. They are not lasers and they are quite safe. You can learn more about LEDs and also how to get your device to read your heart rate more consistently here

Water lock does not interfere with your device measuring your heart rate, but you may prefer that water lock not be activated. If water lock is being activated, that means the buttons on your Inspire 2 are being pressed. Wearing it higher on your wrist may help prevent that.

My inspire used to track my sleep perfectly, but it hasn’t tracked it at all this week.

I have the same problem, plus it's not tracking heart rate. It's set for on wrist & the green lights are blinking. I have not been able to reset it, either.

I have tried this so many times I was about to chuck the darn fitbit inspire 2 through the wall. I just tried one more time and now suddenly after numerous restarts and tries, it worked. So thanks, but my question is why did the ON WRIST vs ON CLIP suddenly appear (never there before that I saw) and why did it reset Tuesday, before I did the restarts. Somehow I must believe Fitbit pushed out an update that reset everything. A little notice would be great.

But thanks @alexthecat for the answer that finally worked.

This reply is meant for the moderator who responded...no idea if it will reach the moderator. Two of us as of two days ago started experiencing the same issue with our Inspire 2's. We have made no changes to how/where we wear our devices and the battery levels are fine. Yet both devices are reporting we slept about 5 fewer hours than we actually slept. With all due respect to the device's sensors, there is no way its numbers are correct. I've seen a YouTube on how to factory reset, but not sure that's appropriate. Any help?
