Inspire 2 stuck on message "To start download the Fitbit app"

I bought an inspire 2 yesterday, and I have a Samsung phone. I'm trying to get it fully set up so I can get phone notifications on it. I know it has to be synced with the app because the app is recording all of my physical activity. I also allowed permissions in my phone settings. But when I try connecting with Bluetooth it gives a pop up saying "An app is needed to use this device." Any tips to help?

Hi there, @patagbura. Welcome to the Community Forums. Thanks for the details provided in your post about the issue with your Inspire 2.

As per the message on the Fitbit device's screen, it seems that your Inspire 2 is asking you to pair it properly. With that being said, I'd suggest doing the following:

  • Check if by any chance your phone's Bluetooth shows the Inspire 2 as a connected device. If so, please unpair/remove it.
  • Force quit the Fitbit app.
  • Turn off the Bluetooth.
  • Shut off your phone and turn it on after 1-2 minutes.
  • Turn on the Bluetooth.
  • Setup your Inspire 2 again.
  • If there is no connection, restart your Inspire 2.

If you can't get started with your Inspire 2, usually a missing requirement is the cause. Carefully review the requirements provided in the help article Why can't I set up my Fitbit device?
