Inspire 2 unable to sync to my phone

Hi my Fitbit inspire 2 wouldn't sync on my phone so I followed the following trouble shooting steps as per instructions;

- I turned off and on my Bluetooth.

-i turned off and on my phone and wifi connection.

- I restarted my Fitbit.

- I force quit the Fitbit app on my phone and reopened it.

- I clicked 'forget device' and tried to reconnect it that way.

- I deleted the Fitbit app on my phone and reinstalled it.

Despite having tried all of the above, my Fitbit will not connect with my phone. When I try to connect it, it says 'try again'. I tried to speak with customer care via the online chat service and the chat wouldn't work and kept cutting out.

Can anyone please help? Genuinely at a loss as the Fitbit is only two months old, as is my phone which is running the most current software.

Hi @DearbhaileC  you posted about having problems in December. You still using the TCL SE20 phone? What operating system is it? The minimum is Android 8.

Stepping in the U.S.A. since September 2013. Android 14

Yes I'm still using the same phone, it worked from Christmas until today. It operates with android 11.

Unless the tracker was removed from the fitbit app, their is no reason to set it up through the fitbit app.

Make sure the tracker has been removed from the phones Bluetooth

@Rich_Laue @Odyssey13 Nice to see you here. Thank you for your help.

@DearbhaileC A warm welcome to the Community! Thank you for your efforts, trying to solve the syncing issue by yourself.

For best results, make sure that no other Bluetooth device is connected to the phone or nearby. (headphones, keyboards, etc.)

Please follow these steps, some of which you have already done, but the order is important:

  • Restart the Inspire 2
  • Please on the phone , go to Settings>Bluetooth, and remove all connections that exist with the tracker. (Forget, ignore or unpair device depending on the phone OS version)
  • Turn off Bluetooth and restart your phone. (switch off and on again).
  • When the phone is back on, turn on the Bluetooth again, but DO NOT attempt to connect to the tracker from here.

Go on the app. From here, try setting up the tracker as a new device.

See you around.

I just realized today that my Inspire 2 hadn't synced for almost a month (though I was getting notifications about my workouts).  I have tried every step here from restarting, to turning off the bluetooth, to removing the watch, to uninstalling and reinstalling the app, and it STILL won't connect my watch to the app. I'm using Android 11, so it's not an issue of that.  This is ridiculous.  The watch isn't even 8 months old.

Ok, it will not connect.

At what step of the setup process does it fail?

Any error messages?

It fails after entering the pairing code. It just says it's taking longer than expected and it never pairs.

@AP919 , Thank you for your message and information. Welcome to the Community!

Does this happens when you are on wifi or mobile Data?

See you around.
