Hi, my inspire 2 screen is very very dim. I need to cup my hand around it to even see it indoors. Dim screen and sleep mode are off. I’ve also tried to restart it and change the clock face. None of this helped. Any suggestions?

You are not alone. Litterally hundreds of poeple have this issue. It will get worse, until you cannot even see it in a dark room.

Seems FitBit do not care, or don't want to admit a serious design fault. I will not buy another fitbit due to this.

Thanks. I kinda thought that it might not be fixable.

I can’t see my screen when I’m outside & can barely see it inside. I know many others who have this same issue, after making sure the settings are correct. It’s frustrating that Fitbit isn’t addressing this issue. What good is a fitness tracker that we can see?

I sincerely hate this thing. Previous Fitbit, more expensive, died on me so hubby bought basic one for me. Can’t read display AT ALL. It’s always too light. Doesn’t matter where I am.

I have a brand new (4 days old) Inspire 2 and I can't see the display at all when I'm out, or even in.  Is there anything I can do? Has anyone got any suggestions?

Could I also ask if there's a way to get the Inspire 2 to do fireworks or some kind of fanfare when 10k steps are reached?I loved it with the Alta HR but the Inspire 2 doesn't seem to do it, unless there's something I should have done that I haven't.

Thanks all.

I called customer support on this last week.  Since my inspire 2 is just over a year old and out of warranty, they offered me $50 off on a Charge or Luxe

model.  I did not take them up on their offer.  Their price was such that I would only be saving about $20 off the price I could find elsewhere and I do not want a more feature filled model..

I am hoping my Inspire 2 won't die completely until the Inspire 3 is available.  It is rumored that Inspire 3 may be available a bit later this year and will include an improved and colored display.

Thanks 'Jogger' I think I might get in touch with customer support. My Inspire 2 is less than two weeks old and honestly I can't see the time/the steps or any of the data on it as it's so dark. Very disappointing!

Hello everyone and thanks for your replies and support.  I've only had my Inspire 2 for less than two weeks so I think I'll contact customer support and see what they have to say.  I'm very disappointed to say the least!

I don't know if it's still an issue for you, but the last firmware seems to have "unlocked" the dim setting for me.

Hello - that sounds encouraging about the firmware. Could you direct me to where I could find that update? Thanks so much - feeling hopeful now!

Didn't work for me. 😞

I wonder if that's why they have launched the Inspire 3 so soon....  if this is the fix, perhaps they should be replacing all the defective Inspire 2 models out there....

It didn’t work for me either. I agree they should replace them with the next model.

Hello All. Here’s what I did. Because I’d only had the Inspire 2 for three weeks and it was so hopeless, I sent it back to Fitbit and got a refund. I then got an Alta HR from eBay, the same as the one I had previously. It’s working brilliantly, life is back to normal and I’m happy! The Alta isn’t brand new but is very good and even if it lasts 6 months I’ll be happy. It gives me a chance to think about where to go next - definitely not the Inspire 2!

Was it? I haven’t found a way yet

Hello - I’ve been just delighted with my ‘new’ AltaHR even though it’s not brand new - it’s brilliant and I don’t miss the Inspire2 at all.
Good luck!

The fact that the fitbit which is barely 2 years old and has issues which are not addressed i will not buy another fitbit brand. There are other brands

Who decides what the best answer is? It did not address the fundamental issue. Is there a way to roll back the firmware updates as this is most likely the issue as the face is much brighter showing battery progress while charging but reverts to dim when fully charged and unplugged.

This has been my #1 irritation with the device. I recently figured out that I must have to keep my phone handy to read the numbers. But I don't know if they will "talk to each other" when out of cell and wifi range.
