@SunsetRunner Welcome to the Fitbit Community.
If there's no interaction with the display to enable Water Lock, after about 20 or so seconds, the Water Lock screen will time out and return to the clock. You can also enable Water Lock and then double-tap to disable it.
Hope this helps.

@SunsetRunner Thank you for getting back. Glad to hear that changing the clock face solved the issue.
Have a good weekend.

That’s an effective but annoying way to solve this issue (*goes to change clock face since water lock is enabled and can’t get it out and this is the only suggestion I’ve seen to get around it and I’m glad you figured it out but Fitbit should probably fix the issue with it locking!)

@amyb7388 Welcome to the Fitbit Community.
Your feedback and comments are appreciated, this helps us to continue improving. Let's try the following: to turn off water lock, firmly double-tap the middle of the screen with your finger. If you don't see "Unlocked" appear on screen, try tapping harder. Turning off this feature uses the accelerometer in your device, which takes more force to activate. Note that water lock turns on automatically when you start a swim in the Exercise app.
Hope this helps.

When the screen is wet (from swimming), I can bang it to try to lock or unlock and it doesn't matter, it won't change.

Is there any way to get rid of the Water Lock feature completely? It is not useful for me and it is annoying to have to fiddle with it every time I want to scroll through the data.

This is not the case for me. It remains for over my exercise interval. (At least 20 minutes)

I have double tapped as hard as I can & it still won't turn off.

The water lock feature is infuriating and FitBit ignoring hundreds of complaints is not helping me feel any better about this company. I have had a feature request up for over a year to give us the ability to disable the water lock "feature" so that it does not come on dozens of times a day. Suggestions for wearing higher on your arm and so forth are totally impractical. It's a bug, not a feature, and it needs to be fixed.
