Hi @aesam1998 the short answer is that the Inspire 2 has been tested and is officially rated as water resistant to 50 meters.
The long answer is a little more complex. No devices are water “proof” and by law in the US, Europe and many other jurisdictions NO device is now allowed to claim that it is water “proof”. Water is incredibly strong (and sneaky) stuff and can get into just about anything if it tries hard enough and long enough. That’s the bad news.
Having said that, with water resistance to 50 meters you will certainly be able to shower wearing the Inspire 2, and to play and splash in a pool. You also should be able to swim with it in a pool, and in fact it is designed to track swimming as an exercise. I don’t swim with mine, but I have heard good reports for swim tracking from other users. The Inspire 2 even has a dedicated mode with “water lock” - this does not actually lock water out (despite the name) but does set the device so that water splashing on the screen cannot activate any features. The swim feature is very popular with users.
However, you should be aware that repeated diving and jumping into a pool can actually put a lot of pressure on the Fitbit, and it is possible that the pressure could be strong enough to breach the water resistance. Also prolonged exposure to sun creams and other cosmetics could also degrade the resistance. This is true of ALL water resistant devices, not just Fitbits.
I personally also would not recommend ocean swimming with the Fitbit, as if the water resistance is breached the salt could make it more difficult for the Fitbit to dry out and recover.
I hope this helps. Welcome to the forums!
