I've had this fitbit less than a week, and have been swimming with it 3 times. Every time I tell it I'm swimming it goes into waterlock - great - but when I stop swimming I can never get it OUT of water lock. The screen won't even show up. AND it never sends the workout to the dashboard so I can see it - it's like it just disappears and I end up having to log it manually anyway. What is the point of having swim as an exercise to track if it won't track it. Because I swim is the ONLY reason I got this one.....help - I'd really like it to work properly - how do I get it to record the exercise, and how do I get it to come back from water lock?

Hi everyone.
Thank you for sharing your experience with your Inspire 2. Keep in mind that when your tracker has the Water Lock function turned on, your screen and buttons are locked. Notifications and alarms still appear on your tracker, but you must unlock your screen to interact with them. To turn it off, double-tap your screen.
You may want to double check the Inspire 2 tips for additional help too.
I'll be around if you have any additional questions.

Can't get mine out either. This Fitbit inspire 2 has been the worst Fitbit I have ever had. So not happy with it.

I had to tap my Fitbit extremely hard with my palm. The first two time you hit it, the option of turning water lock off should pop up and then hit it another two times with your palm. Make sure you’re hitting it hard enough or else it won’t work.
Tapping doesn’t work. I’ve had to hit it with my palm.

Thanks for the tip. Was really excited to get my fitbit yesterday - Christmas gift - and I had the same problem. Couldn't get it out of water lock. Hitting it hard with my palm as you suggest seems to be the only way to get it out of water lock.

So after hitting the crap out of my Fitbit inspire 2 (as suggested by previous users) and still NOT getting the water lock feature to turn off, I had the BRILLIANT idea to connect it to the charger. I figured the electrical connection would automatically be recognized as 'not in water anymore', or something similar, and change its locked status.
It worked!
Hopefully that will help you too.

its pretty easy you just have to tap the screen twice but it seems hard when it doesn't work, just be patient and keep on tapping.
that only works the first time tho.

Quick fix: temporarily change the clock face in the app. It takes it out of water mode as soon as the new face loads. Once that's fixed you can always switch back to your previous clock face. 🙂

Hi. I had this problem too.
Solution that worked: don’t wear your inspire2 for 4+ days. Leave it sitting on a bench. This activated the ‘watchdog’ which reset and fixed the problem.

Why should I have to do this? Wouldnt it be better if fitbit just made a product thar did not need tricks to make it work. When i want to start a workout it would be nice to know it was going to work without hoping all this forum fixes work?
So for clarification you have had the product for a week and have this water lock issue?

So a little update.... after 3-4 days in shipping my fitbit has arrived at Fitbit for warranty. As you can see they are prioriting fixes for this very well documented defect. As you can see by their reply how urgent we are. Must be a log jam of returns over there. 5 days to confirm they have the package that a Fed-Ex tracking number already confirmed LMAO!!
Please allow 5 business days after the date of the actual delivery for our warehouse "to confirm the receipt of the package".
Once we receive a confirmation from our warehouse team that the correct return was received, we will process your replacement promptly.
In the meantime, for us to expedite the process, please provide us the following information below
