Inspire 2 won't hold a charge

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Hello. I have made sure my tracker is updated, I have restarted it and I have turned off notifications. I don’t have anything else running on the tracker, but the charge will only last a couple of hours.

Any suggestions?

Hi, I’ve just started getting the same problem, hopefully someone out there will have an answer.

Hi there, @SimoneQ @lharmony. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for bringing this to my attention and for the troubleshooting steps you've tried. I'm sorry to hear that the battery of your Inspire 2 devices are draining fast. I will be glad to help you with this!

Please bear in mind that as all rechargeable batteries age, they deteriorate to some extent and an older device will need to be charged more often than a new one. The best way of minimizing this effect is to avoid deep discharges of the battery. To maximize the overall life of your Fitbit device's battery, ideally keep it between 20-80%.  Many people find that a daily battery boost works best ( e.g. giving it a 15 minutes charge while you are showering in the morning). For more tips and recommendations, please see Can I extend my Fitbit device's battery life?

Mine isn’t holding charge either so I’ve got in touch with support. I’ve turned off all notifications and it’s just a step counter , a bit useless really.

I am done with Fitbits. This is my third one. I have a pretty good grasp on my steps and activity, so if they want to cheat people through technology it wont be me. Later Fitbit!!!!👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾

I have the same problem last 2 days. Before that full battery was lasging a week. Yesterday morning i charged it and in evening time it was already 0.

Screen on watch is just not goind to "sleep". Its turned on and after few seconds when it should turn black it's just half second and it's awake again. I tried restarting device twice but it's not helping. All the time is the same, even when i took watch off my hand.

Hi MarreFitbit,

thank you for responding but the content of your reply was not helpful, it just reads like a standard script that you were given to quote.  I’ve only experienced this problem since your last update and am now looking forward to the next to see if it is rectified or if there will be another problem to contend with.   Of course if you have since found the fix I look forward to receiving it.  Happy days

I have found that when my Fit it's stop holding a charge, I either do without or have to buy a new one.  This is my second Fitbit and both were not quite 3 years old when they would not even charge anymore.  I had to buy a new one, which I was wearing just two days ago when it died.  I had it on charger and when I put it on it said it was 100% charged, within 2 whole minutes of only using to check settings were all the same, it had went to 81%.  I think it is true that all batteries deteriorate after so long, I am assuming thatv3 years is about what you get out of a daily worn fitbit.  That being said, I had mine set to not show emails, and other battery saving items that the instructions said to do from the app, but it did not matter in the long run, as it lasted about the same time my Sense died.  Now the Inspire will join the graveyard of Fitbits.  I think Fitbit should do something about which batteries they put in their devices.  It would be nice if it last longer.  I hate having to buy a new tracking device and get to know all of it's failings.  At least with my Inspire 2, I had very few problems with it.  The main thing that has drove me nuts is the water lock button.  Next one I get, you can bet I will research that one issue and try to avoid a device that gets locked because my wrist hits it

I do wish Fitbit would step it up and take better care of it's customers.  The customer service is lacking in many areas for Fitbit users

That's it, I have no more to say.  Good luck to all who have a problem with Fitbit not holding charge.

My fitbit inspire 2 is only 4 months old and won't hold a charge for even 1 day now. What is happening? Turned all apps off but steps and sleep, rebooted 3 times no help what so ever .

I have an Apple Watch, but you have to charge it everyday too. I think that maintaining my regular walking routine will have to do. I am over this so called technology. I am sure that in the next few months something will come out saying that Inspire 2 is no longer supported. Ridiculous. I have an old pedometer with a battery that I can replace. I think that will do the trick.

My Inspire 2 is also not holding a charge. Less than 24 hours. It seems like it coincides w the update.

Is fitbit trying to get us to purchase a newer model fitbit?

Same issue and it literally just happens right overnight. It was working fine all last week. I up my workout goals and suddenly I need a new watch. So discouraging as I have major summer goals I'm trying to achieve. I have charged mine 3x in the past 2 days only for it to die before I completed my workout.
