Inspire 2 won't pair with iPhone

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I have used fitbits for MANY years but I'm stumped now. I cannot get my iphone X to pair with my fitbit. they stopped working otgether in about April, after several years. I have been through many similar posts and followed all the advice - restarted phone, rebooted app, reset fitbit...and every time I try to pair, it says 'attempt aborted'

I really don't know what to do next

Please help!

Welcome to the forums @Collsf

Thank you for providing the details regarding the difficulty that you are experiencing with Inspire 2 and for trying to fix it on your own.

I understand that you already tried the troubleshooting steps provided in other similar post regarding to connect the Inspire 2 to your phone. Nevertheless, I'd suggest you take a look at the following prompts listed here below:

  • Please, verify that your phone is compatible with the Fitbit app, visit fitbit.com/devices.
  • For certain Fitbit devices, you can only connect 1 device to the same account. For more information, see How do I set up my Fitbit device?
  • You followed the instructions for your device in How do I set up my Fitbit device? Note that you can't set up your Fitbit device from your phone or tablet's Bluetooth screen; you must open the Fitbit app and follow the on-screen instructions.
  • The software on your phone or tablet is up to date. To see if an update is waiting to be installed: Tap Settings > General > Software Update.
  • The Bluetooth setting on your phone or tablet is on. To find it: Tap Settings > Bluetooth.

Please confirm that you gather all of the above requirements in order to pair the device with the Fitbit app.

Now, please, try one more time to set up your device as indicated:

  1. Turn off Bluetooth on your phone; wait 10 seconds, and then turn it back on.
  2. Try setting up your device again.
  3. Turn your Fitbit device off and back on. See How do I restart my Fitbit device?
  4. Turn your phone off and back on.
  5. Try setting up your device again. If you have trouble connecting your watch to Wi-Fi, see Why won't my Fitbit watch connect to Wi-Fi?
  6. Try setting up your device again.
  7. Remove all other Fitbit devices from your Fitbit account. For instructions, see How do I set up my Fitbit device?
  8. Remove your Fitbit device from the list of connected Bluetooth devices on your phone or tablet:
    1. On your phone, tap Settings > Bluetooth.
    2. Tap the information icon or gear icon next to the name of your Fitbit device.
    3. Find the option to forget the device.
  9. Try setting up your device again.
  10. Uninstall and reinstall the Fitbit app. Note: Before you uninstall the app, verify that your phone is running a supported version of Android OS. If your phone is on an older version, you won’t be able to reinstall the app. For OS requirements, see Fitbit-compatible devices.

Thank you so much for your detailed reply.

I can confirm that my phone is compatible with the Fitbit app and software is up to date (IOS17.5.1)

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app on my phone.

I have turned my phone on and off and switched bluetooth on and off many times.

I have turned my Fitbit device on and off.

have no other devices on my account or Fitbit devices on my bluetooth.

And I still get the same message every time I try to pair my Fitbit with my phone: "Something went wrong. Connection with the device timed out. If this error persists, try restarting Bluetooth on your phone or rebooting the device"

I have had Fitbits since about 2016 and never had an issue like this.

I am truly at a loss and very upset - I have no data, my Fitbit is no better than a glorified digital watch!

Please help!
