The last exercise of any kind my Fitbit recorded of any kind was Feb. 14 with my original Inspire HR. Once I switched to the Inspire 2 will record sleep, resting heart rate and it looks like maybe steps but nothing on exercise. I swam for 75 min to day and nothing. Is it broken. Does it need some sort of special configuration? Because I'm ready to stick it in the box and mail it back and put my old Inspire HR back on.

Hi, @mlaiuppa , as you probably know, your Inspire 2 has two ways of tracking exercise: it should track your certain activities automatically using “SmartTrack” or manually if you start and stop your activity using the exercise app on your Inspire 2.
You can check which activities the Inspire 2 is set up to track using the Fitbit app on your smartphone or tablet that you use with your Fitbit. If you find it is not tracking your swim, it may be the swimming is not turned on. On the app you can also set the minimum time for an activity before it starts tracking.
To check your SmartTrack settings, go to your Fitbit app on your smartphone or tablet. On the main (opening) screen scroll down to “activity and wellness” then click on “exercise”. There you will see a list of auto recognised exercises. Make sure that swimming is not set as “ignored” (and also any other exercises you would like tracked), and as mentioned above the amount of minimum time for each exercise (must be at least 10 minutes).
To manually track an exercise swipe up and then tap on the exercise icon, then find your chosen activity and tap to start. You can change which exercises are available on your wrist on your Fitbit app:
I would also recommend that you give your Inspire 2 a restart . This is always a good first troubleshooting step whenever your Fitbit is not working as expected.
I hope this helps!
