Inspire 2 won't track my sleep times accurately

My inspire 2 has stopped accurately tracking my sleep. For a few weeks it’s telling me I fell asleep about an hour/two hours after I have. For example last night I turned lights off at 2240 and I know I wasn’t lying there awake until 0048 yet my Fitbit says that’s the time I went to sleep (I even woke up at 0000 to use the toilet and went straight back to sleep). Does anyone know why it’s doing this? Thanks!

Hi there, @KristinaAmanda. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for the details provided in your post about the issue with your Inspire 2.

Keep in mind that your time asleep is calculated by subtracting your time spent awake and restless from your overall tracked sleep time. For example, if you slept 8 hours but woke up 2 times for 15 minutes each, your time asleep would be 7 hr 30 min. For more information, see What should I know about Fitbit sleep stages?

Hi! Thanks for replying. I understand that it takes into account restlessness etc but last night it didn’t start tracking my sleep at all until 0048 - even though I must be been asleep for at least 2330 if not before and definitely by 0000 - restless or not. Normally I will have an awake period recorded at the start of my sleep for the 10 or so minutes it takes to sleep.

I have the same issue. I go to bed at midnight precisely. I sync in the morning. The fitbit records my bedtime as 01:57, 01:20, 02:48, 02:24.  etc So my time asleep is out by a long way each time.

It has been accurate in the past on most nights but not for the last 2 weeks.
I only bought it for sleep tracking. So I plan to return it as faulty. But it sounds like it may be a more regular problem with the device.

And the answer you have been given by the administrator makes no sense at all as not answering this issue.

Sorry I don’t have an answer either, it seems to be a fault in the device

Something similar is happening to me also. If I get up in the middle of the night it's only recording the period after I returned to bed. 4 hours of coverage was lost last night.

I’m having the same issue!

Mine has stopped tracking my sleep all together. It hasn’t logged any sleep for the last three nights at all and I know I wasn’t awake all night.

Hi fitbit support!

I have just bought the Inspire 2, but it doesn’t track my sleep proberly and doesn’t give me any sleep details as my old Alta HR did. I mainly use the fitbit to track my steps as well as my sleep, so this is very frustrating. I thought that a Inspire 2 would be better than an Alta HR … shouldn’t that be the case, and How do I get the sleep log to work?

kind regards

Mine has stopped tracking sleep completely too and I've only had it for 2 weeks. I can't figure out any settings that will fix it.

I figured it out. I didn't have it set to On Wrist. Found the Quick Settings menu by pressing on each side of the watch to get Quick Settings. Scrolled down to the On Clip or On Wrist option. Chose On Wrist and then scroll down a screen to the checkmark to set it. Now the sleep tracking is working again.
