I have a AW Ultra and a Fitbit inspire 2 (for the battery life). The fitbit daily calories were showing similar to my Ultra which is great! But the sleep.... oh god the sleep. It was showing I went to sleep at 2am whereas my Ultra said I was asleep by 11:30pm - I knew for 100% fact I was asleep by 11:30pm.
Well, I went and edited my sleep time so fitbit re-calculated my sleep stage. Ok, cool. So, fast forward one day/night. This morning, I woke up and the sleep times were actually correct without having to edit them!!!
So the question is: does editing your sleep time (as a one off) help fitbit to better recognise when you fall asleep? If it does, then I actually give the Inspire 2 kudos. It's a shame I had to edit the sleep in the first place, but now I have, I feel a bit more confident in it.

I don't think fixing the sleep time helps for future sleep time syncing.
Maybe this can help you with your sleep syncing: https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Sleep-Well/Inaccurate-Sleep-Log-Change-your-settings/td-p/1406238
