Inspire Broken Band

My Inspire for my wife -- 2 months old.  The band snapped off leaving the pin in the main body.  I have tried to remove it without any success (not very good engineering on this BTW) -- so I need to get a new band and a way to get the pin out of the main body.  Please help!

I would try using the point of a sewing needle. 

As for engineering watch bands have been made this way for almost 100 years. The only difference is Fitbit has added a side pin to help with changing.

Has anyone had any trouble with the band staying connected to the Fitbit. One side won't stay connected and never has. I bought a new band and it won't stay either. I think there is something wrong with the Fitbit and am thinking about returning it.
