My inspire no longer tracks my walks as activity and I do not have the option to switch to “treadmill mode” o see mentioned. Why did they remove this? Is there a way to get I back? Makes it useless now.

Hi @Mkme. Welcome to the forums.
Thank you for providing the information regarding your Inspire.
To check with you, what do you mean about your device not tracking your walks? Is this related to the Smart track function? Or are your stats not acumulating correctly?
About your other question, do you refer to the option to rename the activity to "treadmill"? If so, please notice that our team is working to find a solution since this issue has been escalated.

I go into track live, start exercise and select walking. I walk on the treadmill for 30 mins to an hour and zero activity is registered. And it will not save my activity as it says I didn’t complete anything. Like it had a map and is expecting me to walk around.

@Mkme The Track live option on the app is for outdoor activity and is using your phone's GPS. You don't walk any real distance on a treadmill. This is why you get no data.
You wrote Inspire as your model. The Inspire is a very basic model and doesn't have an Exercise app. There is no treadmill option on an Inspire. Is Inspire correct?
Can you share more details about your Inspire not recognizing walks? SmartTrack will generally recognize treadmill as a walk, as long as your arm movements are consistent with walking.

Inspire has exercise but no longer allows you to track and report this activity. In the past it did as I have not changed my Fitbit in many years. It doesn’t make sense just because you are on a treadmill doesn’t mean it isn’t exercise. Why would they change the function is beyond me. My Fitbit has never been on my wrist it has always been on my waist with a clip and it is registered that way. So while it may log steps it doesn’t log/ register exercise activity. Looks like I will have to switch to new company to find one that accurately reflects my activity.

@Mkme Thank you for the additional information about how you wear your Inspire. When you use the Inspire in the On Clip setting, it changes the sensitivity of the accelerometer, so it doesn't depend on wrist movement. I reviewed the Inspire manual before responding. The Inspire only has SmartTrack. It doesn't have an Exercise app. It doesn't have a treadmill option.
Have you tried any other troubleshooting steps to get your Fitbit to recognize activity? Have you restarted it? Does it recognize other activities?

I have prior exercise activity in my app that shows that is used to track walking as exercise as I always use my treadmill. I don’t know why they changed it. I attached some pics below. There is no on off switch so I can’t try turning it off and on. It has always been set to clip so that is right. Super bummed I will have to change companies to find a product that meet my needs.

@Mkme,welcome back and thanks for all the new details and the information provided.
As mentioned by our friend @LZeeW, because mobile run tracks GPS, it's recommended to use it only for outdoors activities.
That being said, sometimes, motions such as placing your arms on the handles may impact your activity data. For this reason, try moving your arms while using the treadmill. Keep in mind that the information might not always be accurate if it's an indoor activity.
Thanks for the help provided @LZeeW.
