Inspire HR Connected GPS only works when app is open

Connected GPS has stopped working on my Inspire HR paired with my Android phone since the latest updates. Before I would start my run from my Inspire, which would connect to my phone and get a GPS signal, and keep that signal no matter what I did with my phone.

Now to get an initial GPS signal I have to have the Fitbit app open on my phone, and to keep the signal I have to keep the phone unlocked and the app open.

This is clearly not working as intended.

I have tried reinstalling the app, restarting the Inspire. All permissions are set correctly and the battery optimisation is off. This is something that has been broken by the update.

Ok for anyone who comes across this, I think I've fixed it. I have the app GPS permissions when I first installed it, but the default Yes option for Android 11 is allow "Only when the app is in use". I dug down into the app permission settings and changed it to "All the time". Guess it an Android security issue and not down to Fitbit but I think there needs to be some sort of warning in the app that you'll need to do this.

I just checked my settings and had it "only when app is in use" as well. I just changed it, so we'll see what happens tomorrow morning when I head out. It would be great to have this resolved!
