Inspire HR Firmware Update: Version 1.63.12

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Hi all! I have merged a few threads here to help keep the community tidy.

As many of you are aware, a recent firmware release (version 1.63.12) was pushed to a percentage of Inspire HR users. This release was intended to only affect some newly manufactured products and has since been rolled back.

Thankfully, this firmware version (1.63.12) has no discernible difference from the previous update (1.63.5) and your Inspire HR should continue to function as it normally would. This release does not contain any additional features or bug fixes It is also worth noting that this release is not related to Fitbit Premium in any way.

For those of you who have successfully updated to Firmware Version 1.63.12, my apologies for any confusion this might have caused and I appreciate the time and effort it took to update your device.

I also see a few of you have mentioned that some tiles are missing on your Inspire HR after updating. If you are missing tiles after the update, I recommend performing each of the steps detailed in this article to restart your tracker.

I will be sure to keep you posted with any additional information I may have. Feel free to let me know if you have any additional questions below. Thanks!

@AlvaroFitbit I tried restarting my phone as well as re-installing the app. Then, restarted the tracker again yesterday about 2-3 times as you mentioned. Now, my tiles are back and synced. Thanks for helping!

The issue was resolved after a number of items.

1. Clearing the user data on the Fitbit Directly. Go to settings and then clear user data. (This will not remove the data from the FitBit App).

2. Removing the device from the Fitbit app and unpairing it from the Bluetooth.

3. Re-Adding it again to the Fitbit appand doing the join to the Bluetooth.

4. Resetting the Fitbit by having it plugged into a USB port on a computer and holding down the button for 5 seconds until the smile shows up.

@MattFitbit  having to do this all is annoying and I've basically given this away and will look into a Smartwatch. It is a shame though.

Hi all. Thanks to everyone who took the time to get back to me.

@M-Asp @rsottley I appreciate the feedback you have been providing regarding the issues you experienced after updating your Inspire HR. I can assure you that this was not the experience we intended you to have and that this feedback is being forwarded to the appropriate teams.

@april03 Great to see that your issue is now resolved!

@JoCaT33 I just wanted to confirm that the 'Clear User Data' function only clears the data stored on your tracker. Any data that has been synced over to the app will still be there.

I also wanted to take this opportunity to thank you all for your troubleshooting efforts. If you have additional questions, feel free to let me know. Thanks!

Hello folks and thank you for the great responses. We weren't ignoring you and we took all the information to heart.  Our workdays sometimes make our ability to respond in a timely fashion a bit of a challenge. We have a Fitbit HR and thanks to the advice from the forum, we have broken through and it is working as it should. We have 2 Galaxy 7 phones, a Windows 10 PC and a Galaxy tablet, all are WiFi and Bluetooth enabled. After reading through the suggestions, we went back to the Galaxy tablet and went to settings/connections/Bluetooth and made sure all the permissions were active. After that we had the Galaxy tablet Bluetooth do a search and find the FitBit HR. Once it was linked, then we went back to the Fitbit app and ran the search for our model which is found in only a few seconds and then updated the Fitbit as needed. As near as we can tell, it may have been that we didn't have the permissions enabled which could have been the issue. Thank you all again for the assistance and we will be checking in for more advice and tips.

2nd Update: Would like to say I contacted Fitbit customer service with my issues and they're now resolved. I used the chat function and it was helpful. After receiving a ticket and the issue was monitored they were able to support me. Thank you Fitbit customer service. I'm up and, literally, running again. (Puns are fun. Lol) 🙂

Update: I've accidentally posted this in the wrong area, maybe. Saying maybe only because I think the update may have something to do with the issue. Cell is a Moto g7.

The batteryis dying after only a couple of hours. I've changed the clock face, I've restarted/reset and removed user data. My screen has always been dim, with the shaking feature off, and very few notifications turned on. Battery keeps dying.

I swim 3 times a week . My fitbit has started to record some of my strokes as elliptical. It is ok when I swim Freestyle but when I swim Breast stroke it records as elliptical. This started after I did an upgrade. How can I correct this?

I received my Inspire HR yesterday and when I was setting it up with my Samsung s10e, it did the update automatically so that was helpful.  I have not been receiving notifications from my phone on either my previous Flex 2 and now my Inspire.  I have read what I thought was every solution on here, to no success.  I have not received physical notifications on the screen NOR have I received vibration notifications.  I thought it was my older fitbit that was causing the issue however, it appears it is not.  Any final solutions that can be suggested?  REALLY sucks that 2 new technologies don't want to speak with each other.

I just bought a Fitbit Inspire HR though United Healthcare. The step counting is way off...how do I fix this? Overestimated yesterday by over 2,000!

I am also missing tiles for water intake, sleep, weight and female. Already restarted the tracker and reset my user settings. The tiles are still gone. How do I fix this?

@Chemnerdtree I unpaired, reset the tracker and paired again. Haven't got female health, as I am menopausal, but the other tiles came back.

I don't have any issues with missing tiles after the update to 1.63.12 but this version seems to drain my battery way more than the old version.

@RonAndCarrie , thank you for your reply and confirmation that everything is working fine again.

Your tips with the Galaxy Tablet might help other users who haven't tried this.

@M-Asp , thank you for your help and tips.

@Chemnerdtree , as @M-Asp explained, when a sleep tracking devices gets unpaired of the account the the sleep tile will be removed from your dashboard. Please try to setup your tracker again as a new device.  Please let me know how it goes.

@Senior320 , have you tried restarting your Inspire HR? Also please have a look at this articles. You'll find a lot of information and tips.

Why does my Fitbit device count extra steps?

How do I wear my Fitbit device?

@Chicky72 , thank you for your information. Please check this articles with information about your case. Why are notifications delayed or missing?

@PEI2 ,there can be various reasons why your swim recognized.

For example, the activity is not fully recognized by your movement patterns.

You paused for more than 30 seconds during the first few minutes, so the tracker may have "thought" that the exercise had ended.

I recommend that you restart your tracker and set the start times for the activities differently. For example, for walking, putting on 10 minutes, running on 15, cycling outdoors on 20, etc. and / or ignoring the activities you don't use.

You can find the instructions for this here.

Since recent firmware update I am missing tiles. Have restarted Fitbit but that did not fix it. Also tried settings, clear user data suggestion with no luck. Then tried unpairing and pairing my Inspire HR but still only one tile, calories expended, shows.

where do I go from here?

Hi @Nramm , nice to see you back! Thank you for your information and trying to solve the situation by yourself.

Just to confirm, could you please let me know if the tiles that are missing are in the Fitbit app or on the Inspire HR?

Should it be on the App, please let me know you phone model. If it's on the Inspire HR, please attach a picture on your reply, so that I can investigate further.

I'll be expecting your reply.

Hi @jwjr
I have not had any problems with syncing with my laptop. Only had issues with tracker and app on my phone, and the first time when un-pairing and then adding tracker as a new device didn't work, I removed the app and re-installed it.
Have you tried clearing cache and cookies on your desktop? Sometimes that can help.

I had this also, it never successfully updated but finally went away.  Now I am unable to get notifications on my FitBit and I am very frustrated.  Have you gotten any help with yours yet?

Hi @jh122

You might need to reset your notifications in the app. Do it under settings.

For text and call notifications you need to update in the app itself. Go to phone settings, then applications and click on Fitbit. Change under permissions.
