My daughter has been bought an inspire HR FIT BIT for her birthday as she wanted all the things I have on my charge3 and not just steps and sleep which is provided on the Ace for kids, but Can I put her Fitbit on my account and her use hers at the same time as mine or do I have to set her up a completely different account as I don’t want her to receive the notifications from my phone etc I hope this makes sense. Thanks in advance x

There is no legal restriction with the Inspire HR that doesn't apply to the Ace. It is a business decision.

My child is turning 9. Created the family account and he has the inspire hr. Completely disappointed I can't log his real age for stat accuracy. He's a busy kid and a swimmer that's competitive so I wish it was actually useful for us. Was also hoping to use this as a tool for tracking his sleep wake cycles too teaching him the importance of good rest.

Having them under a child
profile with a guardian is what complies with this law. What does the which device they have synced to said guardian controlled account have to do with anything?! They should allow us to set up any of their devices under our child’s account as their guardian.
Lizzy, this law does not explain why we cannot add a different FitBit device to a child profile. We all want to use the Family feature and set them us as a child account, under our guardianship. Why is a child account limited to the Ace or Ace 2. Online the Fitbit Inspire is recommended for older children and teens. Why can’t my 9 year old wear an inspire and have it linked to her child profile under my family account. You haven’t explained that.

If child protection and legal compliance was the concern, every Fitbit device would and should be linkable.
Interestingly, we aren’t all subject to US laws outside the US.

Same! MY kids that are preteens did not like the look of the Ace ones, too young kid looking. I have the inspire and for both and now they are not able to use.

I am SO disappointed to learn that I just wasted my money buying an I aspire for my 13yo son, only to discover that he can only use one of the stupid looking Fisher-Price-made-of-PlayDoh Ace handsets. No chance. They look something a 3yo would wear to chew on. F--k you Fitbit.

I am doing this now
bought my 9 year old inspire as the ace straps annoy her & her wrist too big we tried inspire straps on the ace but they don’t quite sit right
setting her up as 13 year old now 😬

This answer makes no sense. FitBit Inspire 2 is not a controlled substance like alcohol or tobacco. All FitBit has to do is use the Ace software for the Inspire 2 or create a separate account structure for kids. If the Ace can be made safe for kids, then any product can be made safe. Blaming a law is wrong headed. This is a software issue. The Ace line is embarrassing for most kids over 10 years old.

This is a terrible situation and dreadful for customer satisfaction. I have just bought my children Inspire2s because they didn’t like the childish look of the Ace models. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING on the packaging gave any indication that they wouldn’t be able to be used for children. Now I can’t set them up and have wasted hundreds of dollars and have disappointed children. We will NEVER EVER purchase or use a Fitbit product again.

This remains a useless reply. Our kids don't want the Ace. Updates please
