Inspire HR GPS mapping with iPhone not working properly

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Over the past month the GPS Mapping feature on my Inspire HR has been very inaccurate.  It used to work well, but it seems to update just periodically now, recording that I ran some pretty weird angles.  Sometimes it gives out entirely halfway through.  Sometime I have trouble connecting at all.

Otherwise it seems to give accurate info ie/ distance, splits (as long it connects at some point during my run, if it doesn't connect at all I don't get splits)

I have a Fitbit HR, and an iPhone 7

I've tried:

Making sure both my phone and Fitbit are fully charged

Restarting my Fitbit

Restarting my phone

Updating the app

Making sure Fitbit is the only app running

In phone settings I have location access to "always" and Background App Refresh to "on"

Any other suggestions??  I'm so confused, the maps used to work great...

@blyne80 Welcome to the Fitbit Community! Sorry for the delay in my reply.

Let me help you with you GPS data recording not working. I suggest you clear the connection between your iPhone and your Inspire HR by doing the following:

  1. Go to your phone's bluetooth settings and remove all devices listed there.
  2. Restart your phone and restart your device
  3. Check that no battery saving app/feature on your phone is affecting your Fitbit app.
  4. Also, if you are using an Android device, check that your app has the necessary permissions (settings > apps > Fitbit > permissions) and make sure bluetooth and location services (GPS) are on.
  5. You can find troubleshooting instructions here.

Let me know how it goes.
