I have just purchase an Inspire HR to replace an old Surge. The screen is fine when inside but in the open air (sunshine) I cannot read the screen.
How / where is the screen brightness or auto function so that the screen can be used outside?

Hi @Proph There is no way to adjust the brightness of the Inspire screen. Outside you just need to cup your hand over it or move to a more shady spot. Only the higher priced fitbits have adjustable screen brightness.

I got mine yesterday and just went outside (10:30am to go for a walk) and found the same thing. Completely impossible to see the screen! Kind of pointless - who's going to do exercise inside. Completely pointless to not be able to adjust screen brightness hey

I am furious. I can barely read it indoors. This thing is junk.

Even doing that I can't read it. Really ridiculous how dim it is. And then it's so bright when it flickers at night it wakes my husband and I up. They really need to address this...

I was able to make my screen brighter by going to settings on th Fitbit itself and turning off dim. It’s set to dim which makes no sense! Try it. It’s way brighter since I did that!

I found the same which is very disappointing as can't see a thing even when cupping my hand around the screen.

Pennype did you try turning off dim on your Fitbit screen? It is set to dim unless you change it.

It’s in quick settings on your Fitbit. If you search YouTube for “Fitbit inspire 2 How to get to quick settings” there’s a good video showing you how. You start by holding both sides of the Fitbit screen in for a second until DND comes up and scroll up or down from there until you get to screen brightness. At that point you can turn off Dim.

Didn't seem to make any difference for me on my Inspire HR, unfortunately.
Though now it randomly turns on full bright if I move my hand/arm to a certain angle. Happens often while I'm rolling over in bed trying to sleep which is seriously annoying. Won't light up when I need it too in the sun and WILL light up at night when I'm trying to sleep. -_-

I’ve had mine for almost 2 years. It worked fine outdoors until about 1- 2 months ago...

I agree. Pity I didn’t read this before purchasing. My old charge2 was good but just stopped working.

Even when dimmer is off, it is virtually impossible to see the display when outside during daylight hours. This is infuriating.
