I went for a swim for about an hour and swam for a mile. When I looked at my exercise record it was categorized as a 0.6 mile run that took 59 minutes! Each of the strokes that I used are indicated to be compatible with the SmartTracker. SmartTracker has correctly recorded previous swims. I think there should be an option to correct the exercise record when it’s categorized so incorrectly. My eyesight requires reading glasses for small print so using the exercise option on the watch itself is not always a good option.

@SaratogaSarah Nice to see you around. Thank you for your information.
There could be different reasons why your activities were not recorded or recognized correctly.
E.g. the activity is not fully recognized by your movement patterns.
You paused for more than 30 seconds during the first few minutes, so it could be that the tracker "thought" that the exercise was over.
I recommend restarting your tracker and setting the start times for the activities differently. E.g. for a walk, set to 10 minutes, run to 15, outdoor bike rides to 20, etc. and / or to ignore the activities that you do not use.
Also to have a look at this: How do I restart my Fitbit device?
How do I add, edit, or delete Fitbit data and activities?

I swam again on Friday with the tracker apparently operating properly. I made no adjustment to the tracker. In the swim that was not recorded, I did more breast strokes than on other occasions. However, this is listed as a recognized activity in the swim settings so it should not have recorded it as a run. I do believe there should be an option to have an activity error corrected.

Hi there @SaratogaSarah.
Thanks for keeping us posted, and the details provided. As mentioned before, there are different factors that affect the way your tracker recognize your activities such as stopping in the middle of an exercise, or not having a continuous movement of your arms.
That being said and because your post didn't mention, please restart your tracker with the steps provided above and make sure to swim longer than the time set in the Fitbit app. Once you're done, sync with the Fitbit app and wait a few minutes before checking your details.
In the case of your previous activities, you can edit the exercise category with the steps described in this other help article.

The link to restart does not include the Inspire HR.

@SaratogaSarah Nice to see you back. Thank you for keeping us updated and for your feedback.
The instructions to restart the Inspire HR can be found under the submenu (Ace 2, Ace 3, and Inspire series)
Hope this helps you further.
