Inspire HR WIll Not Setup/Sync

My device is new, fresh out of the box and I have never used one before. I downloaded the app, made an account, and plugged the Fitbit into the charger as indicated. It lit up, it is charging (93% battery right now).

I have looked at the troubleshooting webpage here, I  have looked at the steps indicated in other posts on this subject. I've:

uninstalled the app

reinstalled the app

logging out and logging back in

Tried the app on my windows PC

Turned off the bluetooth and turned it back on

Checked my permissions for location data and bluetooth for Fitbit (it is Always On/Available)

Restarted the Fitbit
disconnected and reconnected the chargee to the Fitbit
Restarted my phone twice

Now what? I can't just use something else because the Fitbit is required for a medical study. I really need it to get going and the app store (Google) is filled with people saying the entire app is broken. This is frustrating.

Repeated:

Turned off bluetooth and turned it back on

Tried to restart the Fitbit (can't, the smile appears and then it is back to the set up url scrolling across the screen)

Closed and reopened the Fitbit app

@WTFrenchToast It's great to see you in the Community!

Let me help you with your setting up your Inspire HR with your phone and thank you for troubleshooting this issue. Try clearing the bluetooth link between your phone and your tracker by doing the following:

  1. Go to your phone's bluetooth settings and remove all devices listed there.
  2. Restart your phone and restart your device
  3. Check that no battery saving app/feature on your phone is affecting your Fitbit app.
  4. Also, on an Android device, check that your app has the necessary permissions (settings > apps > Fitbit > permissions) and make sure bluetooth and location services (GPS) are on.
  5. You can find troubleshooting instructions here.

@Mand0l0rian thank you for pointing this out as it is important to select the correct model when setting up your Fitbit device.

Let me know how it goes.

Every time I want to sync, I have to restart my computer or else the connection cannot be made.

Does this ever get better?  It's painful to sync - is a fix for this bug being worked on?  Can we expect it soon?
